That argument falls to pieces when you consider the very good prosecutor he's talking about is super corrupt, and he's completely going against the information he's privileged to receive as president.

He's doing the opposite, he's attempting to enable a corrupt prosecutor over advise of his own government.

He sacked an ambassador who was all over these corrupt officials.... seriously.

it really can't "equally" be viewed that way. i know you're somewhat playing devil's advocate, but one version of events is ridiculous (the one you suggest above) and one isn't.

we don't have to accept any version of events told by trump as true. that's not how this works. gee, other than ukraine, i wonder how many calls trump personally made to other sketchy countries receiving our aid to make sure they publicly announce an investigation into corruption -- not actually investigate -- just announce an investigation.

you may not think this is significant enough to warrant impeachment. we just seriously disagree on that.

Bloke who said he didn't think the president should be impeached was the same guy who pushed Clinton to be impeached.

the problem at bar is that trump (tried but failed to) extort fake kompromat from the ukraine, and chose to use congressional aid as leverage.

thats abjectly criminal and completely depraved, and he did it because he wants to win a 2nd term. there are no national security concerns at bar. this wasnt swamp draining. he is going after the literal fabric of the republic by tearing down career politicians and by extension, huge swathes of the population that are their constituents. thats the whole ballgame, and its one of several reasons why he should be removed from power.

his own intelligence agencies were like 'yeah theres nothing here to work with, its another conspiracy theory and you need to move on' but he cant because he thinks sean hannity and ben garrison 'get it', he cant help himself, plus hes talked SO VERY MUCH SHIT about the strongest intel agencies on earth, who fucking work for him btw, that he cant allow himself to trust them anymore. thats a whole other problem but its super real, and yet another reason why this lunacy needs to end.
