I wouldn't have dropped more than $100 on it, but my book was 29 to 1..... that buys some nice dinners or maybe a new set of golf clubs (obviously $1200 on golf clubs and then the rest would be used as a bribe to purchase said golf clubs)

Oh, nearly forgot. Dodgers Trea Turner and Juan Soto are locked in a battle for batting average.
Trea Turner is serious Dodger MVP consideration. I love that guy.
Edit
Watch out for a potential Buehler blow up tonight. The trend with him is not the Dodgers friend. This comes from a guy with money on him tonight.
Regrets, I have a few.
All female ESPN broadcast team for Dodgers & Padres
Maybe Bauer makes a surprising appearance in the booth Druff?
Rather listen to two females than one Joe Davis. Heard Davis caught the Ro Ro. I’m taking the under on recovery
In September 2006, the Dodgers were locked in a divisional race, and were down 9-5 at home against the Padres. They smashed 4 consecutive HR in the 9th inning, to tie it 9-9. They ultimately won it 11-10 on another HR in the 10th.
In Septemebr 2021, the Dodgers were locked in a divisional race, and were down 9-5 at home against the Padres. They smashed 4 HR in the 8th inning to take the lead 11-9, and won the game by that score. The more things change...
Max Muncy finally broke the 35-HR barrier. He hit 35 in 2018, 35 in 2019, and had 35 in 2021 before this one made it 36. Nobody wanted him when the A's cut him loose in 2017, and the Dodgers only signed him because Farhan Zaidi repeatedly hassled Andrew Friedman about it, insisting that Muncy's ability to judge balls and strikes made him a potential star. Somehow the Dodgers let Zaidi go, and he built part of this Giants team which is coming close to snapping the Dodgers' division-winning streak. Sad!
Unfortunately, the Dodgers remain 2 games behind the Giants, who absolutely never seem to lose to failteams. The Dodgers have just 4 games left to make up 2 games, meaning that the Giants' magic nunber is 3.
The Cardinals finally lost today, snapping their win streak at 17. Just in time for them to cool down before likely facing the Dodgers in the wildcard game.
:knife
What this has meant is that if you bet the Dodgers Giants parlay nightly you killed it.
I thought the run finally ended but still hung in there while doing something else. What’s worse, I had a -1 RL. I was shocked by the comeback but it’s the sub .500 Padres and they are in upheaval and dissension.
When I made my Brewers pick yesterday I pointed out now that the Cardinals are locked in the wildcard their only mission is to get rested and lined up for the Dodgers. The caution was neither the Brewers nor the Cardinals had anything to play for last night. The loss was predictable (sorry shoeshine) and there was no conclusion to draw from that game but cash.
You are burying the headline Druff.
Scherzer got knocked around last night. His command was poor. Virtually no swings and misses. He has given up 5 runs in back to back games. So instead of believing “Just in time for the Cardinals to cool down before likely facing the Dodgers in the wildcard game.” Dodgers fans best grow concerned about Scherzer - the guy who is slated to pitch your wildcard game.
Scherzer just blew up his Cy Young imho. You go ahead and bet him to win that if you like.
Speaking of Dodger fans concern……. When the Dodgers were down last night the crowd started to get ugly. More than a 100 wins and these “fans” will boo and fight at the drop of a hat. They are scary. Let’s keep an eye on that.
Good talk.

If you can get Wander Franco AL Rookie of the year +450 to +500 I’d take it.
right hand to god, I had it selected and entered an amount and immediately AL ROY was taken off the board at BOL. Everything else is still up.
I hate my books. The Golden Age and all that.
Edit
While preoccupied with my bile filled rants I mistyped the odds using a “-“ instead of a “+”
Congratulations to my Atlanta Braves for winning the NL East last night for the 4th time in a row. They ate playing good baseball for the first time all year hopefully peaking in time for the playoffs. Chop on
Fernando Tatis hit an out-of-the-park HR at Dodger Stadium last night.
Said it was 467 feet but I think it was more.

Juan Soto has now reached base 4 times in 26 games this season. In MLB history, only Babe Ruth and Barry Bonds have done that in more games in a season.
In the biggest series of the season with the playoffs on the line for Philly vs Atlanta, Bryce Harper (0-for-11, 4 K's) NOT MVP
Extras in San Francisco.
Padres holding the key to the Dodgers' faint division homes.
The last time the Dodgers didn't win the NL West was 2012.
Kershaw took the ball when he walked off the field yesterday. Many believe that's because he thinks it could be his final pitch as a Dodger.
He's a free agent in 2022. He will be 34 years old. That's not ancient by any means (Scherzer is 37, for example), but Kershaw has been pitching since 2008, and logged 2454 innings. He seems to battle injury every year now.
It's unlikely he will get a shitload of money or a long contract in 2022, unless a team is very stupid. So there are a few ways this can go:
1) Dodgers give him more money than he's really worth, just to show appreciation for what he's done for the organization, and to keep him as a lifetime Dodger. Think Kobe Bryant at the end of his career with the Lakers.
2) He signs with some other team which pays him more than the Dodgers are willing to do.
3) He decided to call it quits early, Koufax-style.
All three of these are possible.
Padres one out away from holding off the celebration in SF for another day... or I guess a few hours in case the Dodgers lose.
Dodgers win, Giants lose.
Giants have 106 wins, Dodgers 105.
Julio Urias got his 20th win -- the first NL pitcher to do so in 5 years.
Both teams forced to take tomorrow seriously, and will be playing at the same time.
I don't know when the next time will be that you see two teams in the 3-divisional-era where the second best one has 105 wins coming into the final day. The amazing thing here is that only one team in the division has a terrible record. Both teams just beat the entire NL pretty consistently.
I blame the Dodgers letting Farhan Zaidi go. If he didn't show up in SF, none of this would have happened.
Dodgers' Kershaw goes back on IL ahead of playoffs
:anditsgone
Meanwhile, the AL wildcard race is a giant clusterfuck. Two teams with 91 wins, two with 90, none playing each other, and 3 of them playing failteams.
At least the Dodgers are in.
Jays will beat the Orioles today but are relying on Tampa or Washington to win.
They have a great young core, but could be last games as a Jay for Semien, Ray and Matz. All 3 are around 30 so you would think they want to cash in huge at that age rather than chase the ring in Toronto when you're constantly up against Boston, NY, and Tampa.
Washington will likely win, up 5-1.
Yankees locked in a 0-0 tie late. Seattle likely to lose.
Might end up a 3-way tie for 2 wildcard spots!
In other news, Giants up 9-1 against the Padres, who started a failpitcher. Dodgers up 6-1, but doesn't matter. They will end up a 106-win 2nd place team.
Max Muncy suffered a freak accident near the beginning of the game, as Jace Peterson ran into his elbow, and Muncy went down in tremendous pain.
It is unclear how long he will be out, but this is a real killer for the Dodgers. The Giants are also without their slugging first baseman, as Brandon Belt is also injured.
In the meantime, the Red Sox have erased a 5-1 deficit against failteam Washington, and it's now 5-5. If they can win, they will lock up a wildcard spot. Yankees, now without LeMahieu, are still locked 0-0. Toronto is about to win, but will miss the playoffs if both NY and Boston win.
Muncy last 30 days .211/283/.453 with 26 strikeouts/9 walks in 95 AB. Dodgers dropped him in the lineup recently.
He's not irreplaceable.
On a more serious note. Trea Turner named Player of the Week. “Wheels” is also the 2021 NL Batting Champ.
Wednesday can’t come soon enough.
I would love to hear the angered conversations in Manfreds office about the Rays winning the division again and either Boston or NY will be out of the playoffs after 1 game....and possibly the Dodgers!
I'm just cheering for schadenfreude now. Rays-Brewers world series, lets go!
I know you didn’t want to engage me on the Dodgers this year. If you’d rather not kibitz cause I usually spoil the surprise I can stand down.
I understand the love. You must learn to set it free.
Florida doesn’t deserve that team. (or any team really) However, if you like watching baseball they are orders of magnitude better than Yankees or Sawks. They play the game so well. So smart.
I have a shit book offering +285 on Giants NL Champs. If you can get +330 or above I’d throw a few shekels on that. Public is funding these odds but the books steal on these futures
Not sure if I mentioned it before, but I play OOTP (out of the park) Baseball pc game. Its a text based GM simulator. I run my team almost exactly like the Rays do in real life. Draft well and develop, sign international FA's every year, keep the major league roster at like 75% pre-arb players, trade guys once they are approaching free agency.
Its almost a cheat code in the game, and as we can see, in real life as well.
Text based simulator. You just skipped several levels in the sports nerd ratings. Gonna have reread all your posts now.
Do you need some Robux til payday?
I'm going to have to get this. Is it an app, a PC game, or a website?
But yeah it's pretty amazing how long it took for baseball to discover that most high priced free agents are going to be a bust, and that most decline badly after 30. There are a few who buck that trend, but not enough to change the above strategy.
They really need to redo the way baseball compensation works. I understand that all teams waste a ton of money on signing bonuses and development on players who never make MLB, so giving them cheap years of developed superstars compensates for that. However, there has really has to be better compensation for the great pre-arb guys, and fewer big/medium contracts for the free agents.
Good news.
The idiotic rule about the extra innings runner on 2nd has been killed. It will not be part of the playoffs, and will not be here in 2022.

There is a new one every Feb-March. Kind of like Madden and other sports games. Just google "OOTP 23" come February. It is PC only, AFAIK, and available on steam.
Guess who is back?

I always hated the "walking around and breathing heavily while talking" format of YouTube content.
I guess Trevor already getting ready for the self-publishing baseball analyst phase of his career.
Boy the Dodgers looked bad in the top of the 1st. Surprised they got out with just 1 run allowed.
Maybe nerves will settle down now.
:knife
That broken bat DP with the bases loaded was a killer. Super lucky for Wainwright and the Cardinals.
Now both pitchers have their counts run up though.
Dodgers continue to suffer from the bases loaded curse.
The ginger got you right back into it
I kinda cringed when it was Joe Kelly time with 1st and 2nd, 1 out. However, he's pitched really well lately, and he continued to pitch well here. So good move, Roberts.
Now Dodgers need to score some runs. Not sure how 40-year-old Wainwright got revitalized in the 5th after looking kinda shaky prior to that, but here we are.
If they put in Kenlee Jansen in this close game…I will fly to LA and punch Dave Roberts in the balls
You doing carry on or checking your bags.
I was worried about Cowboy Joe West behind the plate I thought there might be theatrics.
Made me laugh. He’s called a good game.Quote:
Joe West gets one last chance to ruin baseball before retirement. MLB's longest-standing umpire Joe West confirms that he's umpiring the NL Wild Card game on Wednesday
Mr Druff. I have the Dodgers run line. I would appreciate a 4 run bottom of the 7th so I’m not praying for a 2 run walkoff in an hour. I expect you to take care of this. Thank you in advance.
