One extra-tragic part of the samman story is how his girlfriend died in 2013. She was driving alone, they were texting back and forth, and she stopped replying at one point. She crashed and died in the middle of their conversation. He saw himself as the cause of her death, and that fucked with him very badly, which is very understandable.
