The kid put up 104 in a game earlier this season but he didn't work out early on then struggled when called up then crushed it the second time he got called up only to get hurt and not return healthy enough to make the playoff roster. Verlander is still very good. Top 3 when on his game. Detroit got shut down pretty hard as well but they managed a run so they win.Quote:

We move on to game 2. Why would I be pissed off? I don't let my feelings get wrapped up in these games as they mean 0 to me unless I am betting on them. Sure I like it when my team wins but when they lose they lose. I can't control any of that. Whoever wins wins. It doesn't effect me either way.
Scherzer and Verlander very good and can be a tough matchup but they aren't unbeatable and last I checked you have to win 4 games to win a series. Right?
Detroit has a better heart of the order and I would take their front 4 starters over Bostons. But as a full staff and full lineup from 1-9 Boston is better and we will see which works better for who in the race to win 4 games.
For Boston fans you better hope to get Game 2 otherwise with the 2-3-2 format this series may not make it back to Fenway.
Detroit wasn't shut down by Lester but they did strand a bunch of guys, you were 1 hit by Anibal the Cannibal and CO. The fact that our bats were active and yours were non existent speaks volumes because of three reasons.Quote:

We might have only won this game by 1 run but that bobbled catch saved 2 runs as well. You're being a little overly optimistic in my opinion but I don't mind, you're the Boston homer that started this thread after all.

B. So because Sanchez (your best pitcher era wise this season) pitched lights out tonight that means Max and Verlander will throw 1 hitters as well ?

E. I started the thread and win or lose this series the title is true. Boston plays in a better division and doesn't play triple a teams like Detroit all season. They had a better ERA, scored more runs and won more games then Detroit this season. They are the better team win or lose this series.
But I will give Detroit credit if they win for winning a series vs a better team in Boston and will happily watch them choke away for the 3rd time in the world series if they grind there way back
