Hopefully after all the vote corruption and illegals are gone your state will turn republican. I have seen many posts that it really is but the cheating and illegals keep you in a stranglehold.
I remember that 3 day stretch way back with no electricity and that sucked.
Things to improve slowly after tomorrow here lows tonight below zero with wind chill up to -30. Yikes.
Timeline:
1/21: Power gets KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT at 6am
1/21: Miraculously, while wind still blowing, they turn it on at 5:45pm
1/22: Very windy and somehow I keep power. Don't get to appreciate it because I took a lot of Xanax and slept most of the day.
1/23: Very windy, winds projected to peak at 11am. Power on, but shuts off at about 9am.
1/23: 9:20a, everyone starts frantically texting me, asking if I'm evacuating. New fire is very close to my house. However, wind is blowing it other direction, so I'm staying.

Druff- I still have my Yamaha generator locally in Castaic, but I will be traveling between CA and AZ today. Just text me if needed. If you get evacuated, I am guessing rooms at Buffalo Bills are cheap tonight.
Wow this is really getting real for Druff. (The fire). I know he has been affected by loss of power several times. Between this and just the political climate in California why is Druff still in that state? California is uber liberal which does not align at all with Druff’s political and societal beliefs. I guess the crazy Asian poker action is just too lucrative in Southern California for him to give that up.
Forward progress for the fire has been stopped, at least for now.
They've also changed mandatory evacuation to just a warning for the immediate areas surrounding it (not mine), so that's also a good sign.
Looking like I will survive another one without my house burning down. In 2013, a fire got within 3/4 of a mile of here.
However, power is still off, and I have the fireplace running again. Probably have enough power to keep the internet/phone running through the night, so I can likely avoid a Starbucks visit until tomorrow. Hopefully power back on by then.
Cable company, which oddly seems better informed than power company customers, claims 3:30pm. That would be great, but I won't hold my breath. Last time they got it within 45 minutes of their prediction, so I'm hoping again they'll be right.
The cable company is weird because they keep claiming THEIR service is interrupted, which it isn't. I'm posting this via cable internet service right now. You just need to power the cable modem & router. But I think they mean power. Through all of these failures, I've only lost cable service once, and it was for a few hours in the middle of the night.
You live south of Camarillo? I thought for sure you lived up near Saticoy. That’s where all the self respecting Jews in Ventura County live.

Once Ben goes off to college, I think Druff needs to move to Vegas. Ventura County is too boring for his personality type. Druff needs to go out more and do more activities. And the Ventura County cost of living is not friendly on the jew wallet.

Sure, if I walk briskly enough to my car and pop out of a good exit, I can get home in 45 minutes.
But on the way there? If I make it in 90 minutes, it's considered a good drive. Not kidding. Going through the valley, and then battling all the LA traffic, is just brutal. Many drives to the stadium for 7pm games take me 2.5 hours. And that's with me sometimes dodging the worst of the traffic via alternate routes.
That's the one shitty thing about going to see the Dodgers -- the drive in. Benjamin will sometimes sleep during that time, which I actually encourage.
I did live in Vegas for a number of years in the 2000s and early 2010s.
There were upsides and downsides to it.
Upsides:
- Easy/fast to get to poker room, and therefore easier to leave if the games suck.
- Lots of 24 hour food options (these have since mostly vanished, unfortunately)
- Cheap rent (at least back then)
- Tons of younger women who liked older men, and not for gold digging purposes. (I wasn't that old then, but I was old enough to where this was nice.)
- Lots of people visit, so it's easy to catch up with out-of-the-area friends, without much effort on your part.
- Direct flights to a ton of places around the country
- No hotels necessary for WSOP
- No state income tax
Downsides:
- Depressing, full of degenerates with zero direction whose lives are in rapid decline
- Terrible summer heat
- Annoying wind in winter which always made it feel a lot colder than it really was (usually around 8 degrees cooler than LA, but that wind made a big difference)
- Terrible healthcare. I can't stress this enough. Horrible. Good thing I wasn't old yet.
- Remote. There are no outlying areas, and few surrounding suburbs. You leave the Vegas area, and it's empty desert in all directions.
- Schools are terrible, but fortunately I had no school age kids at the time.
todge getting burned to death in a 2 bedroom condo off sunset would have been such a cool ending to his life like people would pay for a gladiator death like that while avoiding california taxes and claming only to live there 5 months a year
