Can't top Crowe Diddly's response to this but I can add that elections should not be overseen by someone running in that same election.

"It's amazing how much people want to get to work, they just -- they're dying to get back to work."-- Sean Hannity
re: back to work
county & city governments are feeling the pinch caused by a drop off in sales tax revenue, which pays for a lot of public services -- public employee layoffs are coming
one hopes the economy revives before essential services such as ambulance, fire, police, street cleaning and road repair are significantly cut back
Im actually bummed i have to work every day and every one around me is on a 3 month long government holiday hanging out working in there yards cleaning garages, week day sex. happy hour 3:00 every day.
I do have my employees coming in at 9 instead of 7 (no commute traffic) slightly shorter hours.
kids have no school so i don't have to drive them every morning, they have online classes but generally don't do it. my son is in his room playing video games all day and night and daughter is literally smoking weed in her room, my wife finally told her to go out side to do it which is crazy to here her say that. she likely gets it from a girl across the lane she is 32 who lays in her back yard sun tanning every day so far.
I need a new pair of salmon hiking shoes and want to try them on but all the fucking store are closed.
Massachusetts Gov Baker doing the COVID show at noon.
I am blown away by the massive rise in amputations.
The theme of the press conference was clearly “don’t delay”. Amputations , strokes, vision and other permanent damage caused by cardiovascular problems resulting from people waiting on virus treatment
Kind of a new take away
Fortunately, Boston is the medical center of the US. They want you to come in. They are not overwhelmed despite what you might see in other states

gild drug test tanked, to the surprise of no one whose been listening to me in the $ thread.
I never ever ever play drug gambles. Always very dumb public action. You wanna ride some stupid momo for 15 minutes - fine.
You will nearly always get stung. I learned this back during the Martha Stewart drug stock era.
Can’t remember why pharma was the momo sector at the time but everyone was playing and dying, including me.
is mushatine at it again in the markets
ur welcs for my decn play though UR WELCS
also get out of decn today were getting wrecked yall
California gonna go back to December to investigate deaths.

A friend's father passed away from the virus this morning. He was in his 90s but still active and healthy overall, no major problems. Clearly he had limited time left but for it to be so sudden and painful for him is a real gut punch for his family.
Big fan of Fox News and Trump, he was. We had many spirited but always friendly conversations. RIP
how do you typically deal with a over aggressive sparring partner mushtine?
So the "leak" was results from an old Chinese study that had already been discontinued because of enrollment issues, and the very incomplete data from it was already known. Definitely likely this was just some stock market shenanigans, and doesn't add anything to what we already know/didn't know about remsvidir.
We already know it isn't a miracle drug. The question is does it have some efficacy, especially if taken early enough? Unfortunately, the medical response to this disease for the majority of people who are sick is to tell them to go home (often without even getting tested) and don't come back unless you are dying. There is an understandable, pragmatic reason for this as the hospitals would just be overfilled if we didn't approach things this way.
Unfortunately, because of this we have no data on therapies that might be useful early in the disease progression. By the time the average American is starting to be treated, they often have some serious comorbidities that make the virus the least of their problems.
Too bad, but if people can't go by anecdotal, small sample uncontrolled tests, I don't think anyone can go by leaks either, equal bad science.
Still hearing good things about HCQ+Zinc, all studies discrediting HCQ have been more horrible with science than the original French HCQ tests and what it sounds like Zev Zelenko is doing with his outpatients...plus the studies pooh-poohing HCQ are doing it wrong (you don't give this to people on ventilators, you give it early/prophylactically and give them zinc with HCQ goddamnit!).
Something has to fuck this tiny invader up hiding under a lousy layer of lipids. Luckilly I think there's about 60-somethings treatments/potential vaccines or cures being studied and tested. Science is hard.
Here's a new one that works in a lab dish...it's basically dog heart worm medication: Ivermectin. Brang the viral load down from 50,000 to 1 in the test tube.
Lot's of stuff happening. In my own neck of the woods I see the # of positive cases, while dopping, have gone from about 11% of tested subjects about 14 days ago to around 6%. That is a number I find more telling about the drop in the rate of infection "in the wild" than just a straight up: "Cases are not going down". Yes. They. Are.
But l am worried about the desire to open so damn fast.
at this point i hate even commenting on actual medical stuff because verminaard has been absolutely raising the bar, but the entire zinc narrative began because one (1) virologist sent an email to his niece filled with 7 helpful suggestions back in early january or something. one suggestion was that zinc inhibits the growth/replication of flu virus in nasal passages iirc.
the niece posted his email on fucking facebook, and here we are.
RIP Mayor of Las Vegas (no, I didn't do this, just randomly went to her wiki)
Only the best people.

Quote:
Two years later, at the dawn of the coronavirus crisis, Azar appointed his most trusted aide and chief of staff, Harrison, as HHS’s main coordinator for the government’s response to the virus.
Harrison, 37, was an unusual choice, with no formal education in public health, management, or medicine and with only limited experience in the fields. In 2006, he joined HHS in a one-year stint as a “Confidential Assistant” to Azar, who was then deputy secretary. He also had posts working for Vice President Dick Cheney, the Department of Defense and a Washington public relations company.
Before joining the Trump Administration in January 2018, Harrison’s official HHS biography says, he “ran a small business in Texas.” The biography does not disclose the name or nature of that business, but his personal financial disclosure forms show that from 2012 until 2018 he ran a company called Dallas Labradoodles.
The company sells Australian Labradoodles, a breed that is a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle. He sold it in April 2018, his financial disclosure form said. HHS emailed Reuters that the sale price was $225,000.
In Ronks, Pennsylvania today, I saw for the first time a sign on the entrance door of a truck stop a sign saying that wearing a mask to enter is required.
There was also a sign saying that the bathrooms there were closed, but I went all outlaw trucker and dropped a deuce in one of the Men’s room johns.
so were clear the people peddling coronavirus denial are coincidentally the literal exact same people pushing climate change denial.
i wonder what political party they are affiliated with, you know?
quick reminder 21% of NYC is testing positive and NYC is also responsible for 10% of our GDP.
the economy needs thoughts and prayers people lets go *clap clap clap*
So glad we will finally hit 50k deaths tomorrow and it will all be over. That’s what they said in tardlandia, and they never lie
some science fag pointed out to me that the second wave of the spanish flu killed 10x more than the first but i DESTROYED him with FACTS and LOGIC by pointing out i dont even speak spanish.
we should just open everything back up. Not because the disease isn't real, but because closing everything and hiding like a bitch while ruining everyone financially is a worse fate than spreading a disease that only kills 2 percent of people who get it, and with the exception of the guy from Fountains of Wayne nobody who has died thus far is even missed
also has anyone even consulted Hulk Hogan on this?
I dunno but this doc seems pretty reasonable (and says he's not looking at it along any political lines)...
