CNN strikes again with the misleading headlines.
The link to click from the front page says: "People who know 22-year-old Tyler Robinson describe differing memories of his political leanings"
But if you click through to
the article, here's what you find:
Quote:
But several years ago in high school, Robinson – like his family – was politically conservative, and supported President Donald Trump ahead of the 2020 election, one of Robinson’s former classmates told CNN. “When I knew him and his family, they were like diehard Trump,” said the former classmate. “When this happened, I was like… I don’t know what changed.”
Quote:
Cox said that a family member of Robinson had told investigators that at a recent family dinner, Robinson had mentioned Kirk’s upcoming event at Utah Valley University, and “they talked about why they didn’t like him and the viewpoints that he had,” Cox said. “The family member also stated Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate.”
So there is an electrician who said that a few weeks ago that Tyler hated Trump and Kirk.
We have a family member who said that Tyler didn't like Kirk or his conservative views.
And we have a high school classmate from 4+ years ago saying that Tyler was conservative back then.
That isn't "differing memories of the 22-year-old". That's consistency. He was conservative in high school, and he since became left wing.
That would be like interviewing someone who knew me in 1972, who would tell you that their memories were of me drooling and crapping my pants, and then claiming that people have "differing memories of the 53-year-old" in an article about me.
