I’ve said this before on this forum, but related to why the federal fovernment hasn’t done much, if anything, to shut down cryptocurrencies: As long as the money being illegally washed flows *into* the US’ economy, the feds don’t really care that much about prosecuting money laundering *on it’s own*. But they *will* use it as a prosecutorial tool to go after criminals they want to put behind bars for other reasons, such as drug smugglers and organized crime figures.

That’s why Citigroup only got a slap on the wrist after pleading guilty to helping Russians illegally bring over $1 billion into the US during the 1990s, which was when the US had a very good relationship with Yeltsin’s government, and worked hard to prop it up. But it got tougher on banks for laundering Russian money when the relationship with Russia wasn’t so good, such as during Obama’s second term in office (Sorry, Deutche Bank!).

But if Donald Trump can more fully seduce the GOP into ignoring Russia’s threat to the rule of law and the strength of Western democracies, *and* keep the Dems from gaining control of Congress through these times, his winning the 2016 general election may end up being his more significant blunder given the enormous investigative efforts now working to uncover his chicanery.

They were spying on both Trump and Hillary, as they should have been if they had probable cause to do so. Yet curiously only the investigation into Hillary was announced publicly, just days before the election.

Come to think of it, Trump got Russia, the FBI AND the white middle class he's currently fucking over royally to help him win the election. He really must be the God King.
