Same is true for the GOP or any other party as well, I’m not bashing the DNC here.
If the powers that be in the party think one of Biden/Pete/Amy have a better shot at winning the General they will 100% fuck over Bernie and go with one of them.
I don’t doubt they’ll fuck Bernie if given the chance. It will be idiotic. If it gets to a brokered convention then it doesn't matter, because whomever comes out is losing 95% of the time. If you can’t find a candidate that gets voters to coalesce behind them by that point, it’s fucking over.
You take your L and throw progressives their bone and when you’re trying to explain to them why AOC can’t win in the future, they won’t like it, but they won’t sit it out. It’s a losing election anyway. Any brokered convention where Bernie walks in with the most delegates and walks out not the nominee and they’re 90% sitting and it won’t matter. A good portion will vote Trump as a fuck you anti-establishment gesture. He certainly has 25% of voters for Dems. No one can win when they sit or flip and they will in mass.
If he gets legit beaten by someone before convention, so be it.
In a brokered convention scenario you’re basically hoping for a housing crisis Bear Stearns level event where socialism becomes incredibly popular overnight anyway. Some brokered candidate can’t beat anything less than that.
