I live at ground zero of Trump's chance to win. Always blue Ohio county that seems to my eye and ear to love Trump. If it's going to go blue, it's legit the most silent majority ever. Trump is here every week. He made that first pivot speech after hiring Kelly Anne Conway here. A week later he was back a mile from my house with a large crowd at county fair. Unless there are Columbus neighborhoods full of security moms who are scared by Trump, I don't like her chances in Ohio at all. Winning my county by big margins is the difference in always close state race. I'm pretty sure it isn't happening.
Florida is always hard to poll. It's usually bluer than projected. There are tons of Puerto Ricans that have flooded in that are breaking Hillary like 88/12 and fully eligible to vote. I think Florida is a bigger problem for Trump than Ohio.
It's an interesting race. I vacillate on result daily. Trump has enthusiasm gap and seems on good trajectory.
What will be interesting is if the debates are non-factors. If most consider them a slight Hillary win or draw. I'm actually curious to see if enthusiasm with incredibly shitty ground game and organization can trump excellent data and demographic advantages.
If trump fucks up in debates badly, he's done. Hillary can get zinged in debates, but short of fainting, she won't make a fatal error.
hillary having some sort of medical issue during the debate is the wildcard here. remember when she returned late to the debate stage during a break in the democratic primary debate cause she was in the bathroom? god help her if anything like that happens again

When I try to figure this election out, I always ask WWDD? Would would Druff do? I expect he'll pull lever for Trump if he's registered in California, as it doesn't matter. But in a swing state? That's a hard call when you're a successful lifelong Republican. I know he's never voting Hillary. I know he's said he's not voting Trump, but when that time comes, could he really sit it out? A chance to vote against Hillary? Maybe, because he still has to tuck Ben in every night and he doesn't want to fade the small chance Trump has us in a Cuban Missle Crisis every 6 months, but it's easy to talk yourself into your candidate. The Republicans I know who are vowing to sit it out, I don't know if I believe any of them. Not because they're necessarily lying, but it's going to be one of those in the booth decisions. I trust the women to sit it out far more than men. As men, we're always like,"fuck it, how bad can it be?"

Nothing like this happened in the previous two elections. When people were optimistic about Romney in 2012, it was because he held close, not because Obama did anything major to throw away his lead.
The Hillary health scares have done far more than I ever could have imagined... not so much because people think she's dying, but because it put an exclamation mark on her dishonesty and lack of transparency.
Not that Trump is transparent (he isn't at all), but Hillary has been gaming the system and lying to everyone for 25+ years, and I think the public has finally had enough of it.
Maybe this is just a temporary sentiment and she'll have her lead back in 2 weeks. Maybe she will score at the debates and it will all be okay. But if I were Trump, I would be careful not to say or do anything stupid, and hope Hillary beats herself. It might actually happen.
I have kind of mixed feelings about what I want to see happen in this election.
I think Trump will damage the Republican Party if he wins, and he will likely lose in 2020. I also don't like Trump at all, and don't feel he deserves the Oval Office after all the things he's done (plus the fact that he's very unprepared for the job).
I really hate Hillary and don't want to see her lifetime of shady behavior rewarded with being the first female President of the US. In 200 years from now, our descendants will probably revere her as a groundbreaking destroyer of the gender barrier, and all of the narrative of how she got there will be long gone, save a few history buffs. That bothers me. At the same time, I think it's better long term for Republicans if she wins, and they will probably take the White House in 2020 if she does.
It's also possible that a Hillary loss will damage the Democratic Party, as all of the Bernie bots will go into "see I told you so" mode, and a civil war within the party might begin.
Either way, the next 4 years are going to be filled with scandal and embarrassment for the US.

If Hillary wins, the DNC should be blown up anyway but there will be less urgency. We'll also see what the House and Senate results are.
