Lakers currently sitting at 209 and +10.5 against the New Orleans Pelicans.

I don't want to touch the 10.5. Lakers are back to back on the road, but the Pelicans are a mediocre team, and to be honest the Lakers have looked much improved over the past 2 games.

The 209 is interesting, though. My one fear is that the tired Lakers won't be able to play their usual fast style, or will shoot poorly. You could have a nightmarish situation where the Pelicans put up 120 and the Lakers still lose the over if they only get off 88.

The fact that 209 points were scored against defensive-heavy Memphis last night is a good sign that the Lakers high-scoring ways are still alive and well. Honestly they went under in the Charlotte game because the Hornets couldn't score in the 3rd quarter (just 13 points for them).

This exact reason makes me want to fire on the Lakers +10.5.. Seems like they're fighting hard to get it together, they might even surprise everyone and win imo..

Well, I fired $500 on over 209 -115. The -115 part is annoying, but I saw the Vegas line go back to 209.5, so I figured now was the time to grab the 209 before I may never see it again.

Just thinking of all those Pepsi's you could have had if the bet loses at -115 instead of -110 has to be tilting.

I do like the over though.

Vegas line just moved to 210 so I'm feeling good about the "value" of my bet.

But value means nothing unless it wins.

Lakers actually covered the spread (which I didn't bet) despite being down 21 at one point during the 4th. Trash time let them cover, which is why I hate lines like 10.5.

My Lakers games betting buddy simpdog got 209.5 so glad to see he won, too. It totally looked like it was going to tie at 209 (after the repeated failed free throws), but the Lakers were putting the pressure on New Orleans in the final seconds (who may have just held the ball and not tried to score), who then dropped the ball and the Lakers put in the final 2 on the fast break.

My local guy's future bets odds notoriously suck, but sometimes he makes mistakes.
He has Kentucky at 5000 to win it all.
I'm not saying that is a good bet or anything, but 5 dimes has it at 2000.
Is there anyplace I can bet UK doesn't win it all?

Memphis is at home tonight versus Sac. Public has moved line from -6.5 to -5.5. Hasn't gotten to -5.5 on Bovada yet, though (it's -6 -105). I think I like Memphis -5.5. They are at home, they haven't traveled since the last game, and they had a day off yesterday. They are a better team than Sac, who I believe is playing over their heads at the moment.

Golden State, still without David Lee, is favored by 10.5 points tonight (in fact it's 10.5 -115). They're against a middling Brooklyn team. The caveat? Brooklyn is back-to-back on the road, which can be a killer. However, Brooklyn didn't have a very long flight, as Phoenix to Oakland takes only about an hour. Golden State is also seen as being hungry, as they've dropped 2 in a row. I think GS will win the game, but the line of 10.5 is excessive IMO. In addition, lines like 10.5 can also benefit the underdog side due to the trash time factor. Last night's Lakers game was a good example, where New Orleans led by as many as 21 in the 4th, but only won by 7. With lines like +10.5, you can sometimes win seemingly hopeless games due to trash time, which tends to favor the underdog.

I am not betting these yet because I'm hoping for Bovada to improve their lines, but I might fire on both of these tonight.

No opinion on any of the totals.

FYI my record on NBA games I have bet this year is 4-2-1. My 2 losses came on the same game (the Lakers on Sunday).

Public REALLY loves Sac tonight. Vegas line has moved to -5 -115. Bovada sadly still has it at -5.5, so I'm not going for it yet.

GS still -10.5 -115 in Vegas, but Bovada has -10.5 -110, so again I'm waiting for that to change before firing on Brooklyn.
