I believe there is a happy middle ground between openly feuding with the president on twitter and pandering to him.

Even for a president as bad as Trump, when a huge % of your news stories are about him, and 95% of these are negative things have probably crossed the line IMO.

Anyways, if this is slam dunk proof Trump is a raging racist, than I would argue the vast majority of people in this country (of all races) have said something just as bigoted at some point in their lives and are raging racists if this is the bar. Most people are just aware and self-conscious enough not to say something like this in a public hearing (or whatever it is)
