Did they have a 14th inning stretch like they did at the 18-inning World Series game I went to?
At least the Tribe won and is moving on. Imaging if they lost after all this.

This reminds me a bit of how it felt at the All-Star Game -- my first one ever. Great beginning with lots of hits, including by Dodgers. Kershaw did well enough. Then I got to see the NL just go hitless from the 2nd through 7th innings, and it was just brutal. Just nothing to cheer for. Crowd's energy was sapped. It didn't help that this was a "neutral" stadium (stupid), so they couldn't even play any rallying music or sound effects to get the crowd into it. Finally there was a weak attempt to get something going in the 8th, which failed. Then a 1-2-3 9th.
What a fail. Would've been a lot more fun if it was a slugfest back and forth.
Anyway, at least you had a good ending.
9-9 Jays Mariners, was 8-1 TOR, both bullpens, including the amazing Mariners BP, have let in 5 runs.
What a disgusting choke job by Toronto.
Should have left gausman in one more batter.
And your bullpen just has to be better.
Pathetic.
Two things, baseball has been very good me but I hate Toronto almost as much as I hate America.
Seattle is a neighbour and if they advance one step further I will watch.
Also, shut the fuck up you nicotine slave. Your addiction to nicotine extends to a photo
of you and your son, running of the bulls in Spain, and you have a butt lodged between your stunted growth fingers.
You couldn't drop that nicotine hit for the minute or two required for a photo? That's speaks volumes. Let's talk addiction.
And your little addiction means a daily intake. That means stink. You have a stink about you that involves all your clothing. You can't smell it but everyone else can.
Of all addictions, yours is the most pointless. There is no mental uplift. There is no satiation as with food.
No relief from stress, nothing. But you do it and you cast blame all the same. Fraud.
Ultimately no one is perfect so the charge is that of a hypocrite. It's time honoured. Those casting blame
are typically in over their heads with personal failures.
First off it was cold as fuck. It was like 47-48 through innings 1-9. That’s nothing to me being from up here. I’ve went to a hundred events colder than that. There was something about the wind and just angle, it was miserable. I felt appropriately dressed. Had north face long sleeve on and Columbia jacket. 48 feels like 80 in March after winter, but I was miserable as was everyone else. When they loaded the bases and failed to score a run, there was just a palpable gloom that overtook the stadium and it lost all atmosphere between the cold and length. I’d have left two hours earlier and went somewhere to watch it in any non-playoff scenario. At the end, my team won, but was legit the least enjoyable experience I’ve ever had at a sporting event.
Add in I had a headache and I had this guy just screaming his own made up chant the whole game a row behind me and it was a long day. I turned around to tell him to shut the fuck up, but he was older and had one of those diabetic gloves on and missing a few fingers, so I just let him have his fun.
We won. I have not a single other positive thing to say
Going to Dodgers/Padres game 2
Very unlike me to buy seats over 24 hours in advance, as usually the price goes down. Decent chance that will happen here, too, but I saw seats I really liked and couldn't resist. Also, the amount it can potentially go down isn't that high, so the downside isn't that terrible.
Looks like I'm getting Kershaw. Lord help me.
Well, I’ve ran well with Quantril, and we aren’t beating Nestor, so it has to be tonight.
Tribe +175
Phillies/Braves already starting with some fireworks.
2-1 Phillies
Fried isn't looking great, but Ranger Suarez simply isn't very good. Braves really need to win this one, rather than being in must-wins against Nola or Wheeler.
Awful announcing
Can someone tell Joe Davis to fucking stop talking. He can’t stuff more meaningless trivia into a broadcast. Ok bud, you are “Mr Inside Baseball”. Motormouth. Trying too hard.
I usually switch to another broadcast when he’s on but I’m stuck with him for playoffs. Uggghhhh
He is the antithesis of Vin Scully.
Despite the expanded playoffs I see a 5 day break for those teams with a bye vs 4 last year.
I actually have no playoff action today. Very unlike me.
October is the very best time of the year for sports so no worries finding good spots.
Phillies bullpen strikes again. 7-1 lead becomes 7-6. Uh oh
Okay, Sanlmar, I'm here to take my lumps regarding Kershaw.
Though tonight's loss was a multi-player failstory.
At least the game was exciting and the weather was nice.
Oh, and there was a goose on the field in the 8th. Benjamin actually predicted this by asking me earlier in the game, "Has there ever been a bird on the field before?"
Sure enough...

Great seats for a playoff game. The contest was a nail biter and exciting. Ben is a lucky kid.
Kershaw’s slider wasn’t working. I wonder how much of a difference Will Smith vs Barnes made. Both Yu and Kershaw ground thru that game. Honorable performances.
Back half of the Dodgers lineup was on full graphic display. I guess it’s time Ben learn about a few adult facts of life. Nothing but the long ball so far. No station to station manufactured runs. That’s not good.
Lotta Dodgers bullpen. Gonsolin next and that will certainly mean much more exposure to the experimental “bullpen by committee”. Just shameful this homework assignment was never finished. You had all year. This has always been the case though over the years. It’s worse this year
Padres bullpen has been really quite good.
Both teams need their pitchers to go deep. Dave Roberts has always been quick and twitchy with his pen in October. I have no idea what he’s gonna do here with Gonsolin and later games. Maybe I do actually.
I was thinking last night how much Machado has grown up. He was a hot head early on and I still have him stereotyped that way but it’s no longer the case. He’s surprisingly well spoken too these days.
The Dodgers will overcome their challenges and get past Padres. Braves Dodgers will be the World Series for me.
When Acuna got hit in the elbow by a pitch I thought my interest in the playoffs just ended. We will see.
Tell Ben about this...ah, the 80's:

Ben loved the goose. When he woke up this morning, it was the first thing he wanted to tell his mom about.
He was already fascinated by the Randy Johnson bird thing (which occurred before he was born), so nice that he got to see a bird story which didn't involve death.
One game in 9 days for Yankees? That just can’t be good for routine. LFG Guardians
Fuckers have me on stubhub thinking about freezing my balls off again tmrw. Haven’t hit buy yet. I was miserable last week.
As much as I enjoy beating the Yankees, these Yankees aren’t particularly annoying. Shutting Costas the fuck up though is highly enjoyable. Won’t ever shut up except to suck the Yankees cock.
Yankees proving how one dimensional they are. No wonder they struggled in the second half.
If this postseason ends up Padres vs Phillies and Mariners vs Indians, MLB will get exactly what they deserve. This is no offense to BCR's Injuns, as they deserve to be in the picture, being the AL Central champs. However, the 6 wildcards are a complete joke. I don't care if some had to go through all road games to get to the NLDS. Still dumb.
If the season is going to be 162 games, it needs to mean something.
But imagine if the Yankees, Astros, Dodgers, Braves, and Mets all fail to make the ALCS/NLCS. Awful.
Gonsolin is an example of a good pitcher on a worn out staff who is worn out himself. Anticlimactic stuff. That’s not elite baseball
Player and owner greed is on display this fall. Is what it is.
Gonsolin pitched far more innings than he ever had before. He got hurt because he was overused. It’s like the final scene in Saving Private Ryan.
We can talk about Dodger load management. Dodgers didn’t. Load management is not a conversation sports fans should be having but baseball isn’t alone.
I needed Padres to convert some runs in the 2nd. Fail
Not gonna lie. It is going to be somewhat of a relief if Padres win this series and I dont have to watch another second of baseball until next March. Playoff baseball is just too much angst on top of all the football/basketball betting going on right now.
Dodgers 0-for-19 in last 19 AB with runners in scoring position.
Since the fourth inning of Game 1, they have not gotten a base hit with runners on base which drove in a run. The 3 runs in Game 2 were solo HR, and the one run today was from a sac fly.
Awful.
:fail2
I was actually worried about the Padres hitters getting hot and clubbing the Dodgers hard this series. So many guys who are capable of doing that in their lineup. Instead, they've mostly been held down, and the Dodgers bullpen has been pretty good.
But the inability to hit with runners on is just mind boggling. Hader is kinda back to being himself again, so I don't see the Dodgers coming back here.
I’ve heard the narrative this year that Trea isn’t good in the playoffs historically. I didn’t have that impression personally. I’m a Trea fan. However, he hasn’t been elite by any stretch.
10’s of millions ride on each performance given his contract being put out to bid.
Josh Hader. It’s showtime
I keep thinking about how Cleveland abused Clase today
Back half of Dodgers lineup is a bag of balls
