The problem I see with that bet is that things that could disqualify him could also lose him his big payday, unless of course , it is rigged ahead of time. It is such a circus I guess anything could happen.

I could see a DQ. I don't think McGregor kicks or takes him down or anything like that. He's composed enough to know better, I think.
Maybe the "dirty boxing" where he holds behind the head while punching (looked like he was doing a little of that in the clip with Paulie), or the rabbit punches. Something like where they take 3 points then DQ him.
I'd fucking hate to see that happen. I want this to just go down, however it's going to go down, and do so in a manner that it's just over with, and doesn't require a rematch.
I didn't bet that. It just seemed like if any bet would guarantee a sequel, that would bet the one. I'm not even sure if that is what OSA meant but that's how I read it. I don't think there will be a sequel. I do think there will be a lot of spin-offs though... unless the MMA guy wins this. The MMA winning this would make all of that irrelevant. The MMA guy winning this would make boxing drop below handball and Australian Rules Football in popularity. Barring the Sheboon Pickens Effect, Mayweather will KO this clown in round 1. Even if the outcome is completely left to chance it's still a pro boxer vs. a not pro boxer. I could never dream of a fight like that lasting any amount of time at all. No DQ, no TKO, no judges. Conor sleeping. Gone in 60 Seconds. My recommendation for you is to dwarf all your previously made bets with Mayweather early bets.
Or you can sit tight knowing that being on the opposite side of me is most likely not horrible.
I think round 1 is a feeling out round for sure. Mayweather has to see how Conor is going to come at him.
But who knows. Nate Jones (Mayweather's assistant trainer, who is probably actually his real trainer) said that without giving too much of the gameplan away, they intend to come out throwing a higher volume of punches, because they don't believe Conor will be able to handle it. And that they'll attack the body from round 1. Jones says it'll end before the 5th round.
Buuuuuut you know Mayweather. He says he's knocking everyone out. But if this is as serious a fight as they claim, he's stopping Conor. The question is how long he fucks around with him before doing it.
Also, in regards to prop bets per round, if there is a DQ in a given round is there still action ? I assuming so but cant seem to find an answer. For example, you have Mayweather in round 7 @ 15-1 and then Mcgregor kicks him in the face and gets DQed.
This fight spooks me, the odds are just all wrong. Normally I'd make an extra large bet if I think the odds are wrong.
Conor in my opinion needs to end this fight early, if it goes the distance he will lose.
He's bigger, he's stronger, he's younger. If Conor is not at least 10 pounds heavier then Mayweather when they step in the ring I will be very surprised.
On the other hand, I don't feel Mayweather has the power to hurt Conor, but his precision will. Floyd will be stepping in and hitting Conor with accurate punches, and disappear... while Conor is throwing punches into thin air.
I'm a staunch Conor fanboy, but I think he's going to sleep.
Think I will just place a small interest bet on this fight, Mayweather by KO @ 5/1
Hope I'm wrong, I don't like Mr Money, superb boxer but what a cunt.
It's funny I was listening to Rogan from a couple months back saying he would put the price at 20-1, and seeing where it is now (currently -455/+355) it is just such free money betting on Mayweather. Want more proof? Read this....

It is just a bunch of McGregor fanboys pounding him so hard that they have no choice to throw out this bullshit line. Even the large betters presumably on the other side, HARD can't stem then tide of the masses. Everyone hates Mayweather and wants to see him lose, they don't even give a shot about the price. I'm putting every penny I have in my account on Mayweather.Quote:
The Westgate Las Vegas Superbook first posted Mayweather as a -2500 favorite (and McGregor a +1100 underdog) in a hypothetical bout back on Feb. 16. Since the fight became official on June 14, sportsbooks have witnessed mind-boggling handle, driving the consensus price to Mayweather -475 (McGregor +375).
"This is like hanging -3 on the Super Bowl and seeing the line move to -8," Jay Rood, vice president of MGM Resorts race and sports, told ESPN, revealing his company's current ticket ratio of 25-1. Last month it was 50-1. "This could be the worst loss in the history of MGM Resorts."
"All I know is we're less than a week away from making a lot of money or getting [clobbered]," William Hill director of trading Nick Bogdanovich told ESPN over the weekend.
"If there were no market already established, I would've opened Mayweather at 100-1," Bogdanovich said.
"As we know, anything can happen," Vaccaro said. "But truthfully, this thing should be 50-1. To me, it's absurd."
Vaccaro just may be the de facto expert. Not only does the Vegas veteran have four decades of bookmaking experience, but he is the only known oddsmaker in the entire world to have posted a line for Buster Douglas' upset of Mike Tyson in 1990, which closed at Tyson -4200.
Aaaaaand I try to get to 5dimes to check the lines and its hard down.
Shit might get very real today.
disregard, was a hiccup.
This shit might go to -350 before the fight if this continues. We still have 5 full days left.
Badguy if you still know some people at betonline I will need a limit increase on short notice if that happens.
This seems to me to be the best bet that I can remember since I started betting. Am I wrong here? Hes -400 against an amateur fighter, when just two years ago when he fought Pacquiao he closed at -330 against the 2nd ranked pound for pound fighter in the world. Of course anything is possible, but there seems to be great value here.
Such a huge discrepancy in odds between the bookmakers. Those Westgate odds above are terrible... 10-13 Mayweather by KO is laughable when you can get 5-1+)
-330 on Betfair for Mayweather to win outright is available right now, think the odds have reached a plateau and will move the other way.
If you truly believe the fight isn't going the distance there are some massive +EV bets to be had.
Booked 10k of action today where if it doesn't go the distance I make 1600 or 2500.
Good point... I need to read the asterisk in future.
If you look at the round betting the differences are huge. Folks taking Conor to win in the early rounds could be leaving a lot on the table.
Sorry about the metric, I looked for a setting to change it and couldn't find one.
I'll tell you why I'm just a little spooked.
If Floyd takes one on the chin and dives he might make over a billion dollars, and the way he spends money he will need it. The rematches will be the biggest PPV in history.
Fight 1: take a dive
Fight 2: smash Conor
Fight 3: smash Conor
I simply think Floyd loves the $ and I really don't trust him.
Am I paranoid?
No way in hell, imo. The guy for sure loves money, but he also loves having that 0. And a large reason he's been able to make so much money, is because of the 0.
If he were to lose, people would be screaming from the rooftops that the fight was fixed.
I think the only way a rematch sells, is in an octagon, and I don't ever see Floyd doing that.
Floyd is probably too insecure to ever give up his 0 on purpose. Especially not to an MMA fighter.
I agree 100% that the zero is a huge thing, but if he loses to Conor it's not quite as bad as it really appears at first... look at this as a retirement fund and he knows he'll never fight again so it's kinda moot on future earning potential.
But it was just a lucky punch :)
You know how easy it is to react that tiny bit slower and eat a punch?... he'll need to take a few and he could easily make it look legit.
He can rant about he didn't take the fight seriously and was still in retirement mode and living large etc... Conor is the king of the world and EVERYONE wants a rematch I reckon.
A billion dollars to a man who loves money?... a man who's struggling to pay his taxes and got robbed of a big chuck of his Pac money?
He must be tempted. but maybe I'm paranoid.
Interest bet only on this fight.
$50 on Mayweather to win by KO @ 5-1+
And the chance he gets caught are zero.
Tell nobody and don't bet Conor in fight 1... maybe some super trusted insiders but not needed.
Look at the odds already Conor is pretty much 3-1 so wouldn't be totally unexpected in the slightest.
Zero chance Conor will fight anyone else in the ring in the meantime and devalue the retirement fund. He will not fight a real fighter for $20 or $30 or even $50 million.
Yeah it might hurt his pride losing that zero, but he'll enjoy every minute of the next two. Can he legally bet on himself, bet big fight two and three.
After he's finished. Conor is just a lucky schmuck that caught him with a lucky punch, and Mayweather has his redemption in the trilogy.
Mayweather should be between -1500 and -1000 I reckon.
I don't buy into this fanboy stuff, I'm officially spooked and paranoid. :)
I think you are paranoid. Mayweather has done everything he can to fuck with the line as well. The average betting fan also doesn't have a clue what they will be watching. I have tons of friends who really believe McGregor can win this fight. I think part of that is boxers have lost their mystique, for a long time they were viewed as man kinds toughest humans, the fighters. MMA has taken that from boxing and rightfully so, MMA competitors are the real fighters now.
My old man who was a life long boxing fan until MMA became a thing really believes McGregor can win and I think part of that is just knowing that he would win easily if it were a real fight. People don't know how specialized and different boxing is. Bet on Mayweather, he's going to be betting on himself if that makes you feel better about it.
for about 5 minutes i was interested in this fight as a stylistic gesture and now i just hope that in 5 days, ill never have to hear another 'floyd taking a dive' conspiracy theory ever again.
That's cool man :) I am enjoying a bong or two so I very well might be paranoid.
I am a Conor fan. Part of me also has a belief if he's convinced himself the little man can't hurt him. He's going to walk through him or attack at funny angles and land that lovely crisp powerful left hand that he has.
But... Conor moves like an amateur boxer. He does have fast hands for an MMA fighter, but Mayweather has super fast hands and even better feet.
I love the mad Irishman, but he's gonna be punching a lot of air, and this is damn tiring.
McGregor wouldn't even beat top amateurs in boxing. This fight shouldn't even be sanctioned. The only way Mayweather loses is if he throws this thing for future pay days.
if mayweather loses, how many people are going to pay $100 to see a busted up has-been with shot timing get in the ring again?
that theory makes no sense to me; mayweather losing to an amateur boxer isnt going to get him another $300m in the rematch, especially considering that ticket sales are fucking awful right now as it is.
not to mention, conor isnt going to retire from mma any time soon, and thats his only option if he takes another boxing camp. the sport wont stand for him fighting once a year, not when hes carrying a strap.
Why the fuck would they have Floyd take a dive? Who is saying that? That would make zero sense. Not like I know everything, or anything, but I can't come up with even one reason for that. What reasons are they giving as to why Mayweather would take a dive? I'm trying to come up with even one reason and I can't. Boxing dies if Conor wins to anyone who isn't a super fan/expert. MMA misses out on a new cross over revenue stream Conor wins. In a scripted world them having the MMA guy beat the boxer at boxing on the first try would be the biggest troll ever. It'd be like going to a blockbuster movie premiere and surprise... it only lasted 10 minutes.
Even looking at this beyond a sport angle to figure out even one reason for Mayweather to take a dive and I still can't. This isn't the Rodney King era. This is the Rodney blew his hot load in my face after he fucked my wife era.
1. Hype
2. Hype
3. Hype
4. As big as MMA has gotten and even if their popularity has surpassed Boxing they are still going up against fucking Boxing... ya know the sport where Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson and at least 50 more guys achieved more fame than whoever the top MMA guy is. The MMA fans with a brain know they are still Boxing's little brother and they'd love to see their guy win. The MMA fans without a brain... well I don't really know what they think about OMG are they ready to watch this.
Yeah one has to wonder.. by conservative estimates they must be in the hole upwards of 400-500m USD and 300m of that is just the paychecks for floyd and conor, and floyd is expecting another 100m on the back end.
they claim advertising is where the lions share gets earned... ok i guess... maybe they expect to license footage down the road for espn specials or produce some sort of documentary... but seriously i cant imagine how they make this definitively profitable at this point. and im guessing the ppv numbers are not going to blow minds here.
i have lions share on floyd stopping him, with light action on conor landing a dream punch in the first 4 rounds.
Salty the UFC controls McGregor, they aren't just going to let him do a boxing trilogy. He has a contract with the UFC and there are huge MMA fights within the UFC involving McGregor. Put the bong down, stop the paranoid talk and place a large bet on Mayweather.
The fights going to make a lot because it's interesting. A lot of people who don't know the sports really believe this is a close fights, others will pay just to see Mayweather play with McGregor and some will pay just to see the spectacle.
I'm going to put 5k on Floyd just winning.
