I've read McGreggor gets somewhere is the neighborhood of $5M-$6M per fight between show up bonus, win bonus and PPV bonus over his last few fights.

My guess is $$ gets the guy he can easily beat for his 50th. He gets a guy that "everyone" will tune in to see and draw BIG PPV sales.

And what it's all said and done McGreggor could "demand" $20M for the fight and laugh his balls off at UFC all the way to the bank.

Conor is under contract so it seems to me the UFC could either sue the shit out of him or even stop the fight before it happened. Conor is starting to turn into a joke. He is a couple losses away from ending up on UFC FS1

Hard to say C$. You may be right. But if he's talking up the posibility my guess is he has an out.

He's locked in tight. Talk is talk, nothing more. Posturing, promoting, etc.

If this whole thing is remotely true, I would imagine Conor can "retire" from the UFC and go box.....

That being said it's likely just all a big publicity stunt mostly for Conor but partially for Mayweather too. They both like to keep their name in the news.

I dont think its that easy, I think he would have to buy his way out of his contract somehow, which surely has stipulations regarding this sort of adventurism.

That said, we may be totally overblowing the UFC's reluctance to get involved in an event like this and cobrand it for a portion of the gate etc.

End of the day, Zuffa is about that long money.

There's zero chance. Its lol that anyone thinks there is even a sniff of a hint of a shot. Like, do you have the idea somehow that the UFC doesn't have this contract law thing figured out? You think they leave loopholes in their contracts where someone can go into another combat sport without their permission and just start lining up fights? Hell, the UFC could stop their fighters from doing Metamoris and EBI and all those things if they really wanted to. You even need their permission to do pro wrestling.

He said he was gonna invade Jose Aldo's favela and enslave the population for cheap sweatshop labor because they are a hardworking people in Brazil, but Conor's the boss and he owns Rio so that's how its gonna go down. Agreed. They would have to at least split it and do a cross promotion with Money Mayweather Promotions, as Conor cannot leave the UFC entirely while under contract (as well as being the champion at 145, the UFC has him by the balls with the "champions clause".

It's not to say Dana and Lorenzo wouldn't be opposed to the idea, however. They and Floyd's team could make a SHIT TON of money doing something like this, as well as get a ton of casual marketing for their UFC brand.

And there is precedent to this, a MMA fighter facing a boxer....granted it wouldn't be in the boxing ring (which this would be).

Muhammed Ali vs Antonio Inoki faced off back in 1976 (albeit it wasn't a boxing match; famous Judoka Gene LeBell had a really great interview on it which I can't dig up), which was supposed to be a work but ended up getting personal. And we all remember the fail that was James Toney vs Randy Couture (one of the first times I ever bet on MMA; I literally put my entire bankroll on Couture and it was the easiest money I have ever made).

I like Werdum at -150. Stipe is a beast but hes not +130 against Werdum. Hes +375'ish. Werdum -150 has a fuckton of value to me.

He's fighting at home, this should be -250 IMO. Stipe has a puncher's chance with his athleticism, but he has no where near the ground game that Werdum has. Werdum is also the longer, taller fighter.

I'm probably gonna parlay him, Cyborg, and Lineker. These Brazilian fighters when they fight at home really bring their A game.

Honestly this is my big concern, but Stipe's stoppages generally come against profoundly one dimensional fighters who have zero evasive abilities.

The ring rust factor gives me pause but Werdum is so weirdly smart in the ring, I think he can weather the storm often enough to give equity at that line.

Also I do not believe Hall beats Silva. Hall's normal MO is to shine like the sun when he faces a high caliber challenge, and to never get out of first gear when hes facing someone who doesnt force him to step his game up.

In this case, I think there is another psychological quirk at bar; Hall's manlove of Silva. I dont think Hall _wants_ to hit Silva, and thats going to turn this into 15 minutes of feints and counters and jogging backwards followed by a gift decision to Silva by the judges.

If enough money goes on Silva, I'll fire on Hall if he hits like, +200 or better. But at like +110 or whatever, fuck that, hes a flake and Im not interested.

That is a good point about his knock outs and who they have been againt. I do also think it is important to point out Werdum isnt young anymore. He has been on a tear as of late but every year at his age makes a big difference. We saw it with Anderson Silva. He was god until about 38 and then went down hill.

Plus hes scaled down his activity since the USADA crackdown. Gotta wonder about that.

Werdum will fall to his back at the first sign of danger on his feet, when the first hard shot hits, same as Nick Diaz always did. Very hard to knock out, IMO. If you follow him to the ground, you put yourself in severe danger.

I mean, the question is really.. are we going to be here on the 15th saying "wow old Werdum would have gotten out of danger there" and more importantly, are the odds of that happening -150? I think Werdum is easily the smartest fighter in the game right now honestly so Im comfortable with stacking a bit here.

Also I think that MT front kick to the body is going to be what solves Stipe. It can break up his tempo and keep him out of the pocket.
