It's even worse than that. The Republicans want the checks they send out to individuals to be only an advance on the next year's tax refund. So if you get a check your next year's refund would be reduced by the same amount, or if you owe tax your bill would increase by the same amount. This is how it went when W mailed everyone a check in 02 or 03 I think it was. The money they're giving away to corporations will just be a fat ol' handout.

Hopefully the Democratic controlled House won't let this happen, but expect there to be some sort of compromise in the name of urgency, and expect it to be mostly in favor of the rich and the corporations.

The proposed 1200 is a prepaid 2020 tax credit which will come due next April. It’s not free money it’s a one time payday loan.

The “real” part of the bill is a 400B slush fund that gets allocated to the Sec of the treasury. They don’t have to run any loans by anyone and Trump can decide to give it to whoever they want. Per the terms they don’t have to report on anyone who gets a loan for 6 months. It’s literaly a slush fund for corporations and Trump can do whatever the fuck he wants with it and not have to tell anyone what he’s doing with the cash.

Nothing is included to prohibit using the $$ for stock buybacks. There is a cap for executive bonuses at 200% of last year. So if you got a 5M bonus last year you could still get one for $10M if your company took a loan.

To put it bluntly there is a 0.000000000000000000000% chance the democrats will go for this. It’s a total and complete horse shit bill. It’s fucking DOA
