You are not a communist, but you'd fit right in at a Bernie Sanders rally. I'd consider you a socialist, and there is nothing wrong with that, you can rally behind the likely 2020 Democratic nominee Elizabeth Warren.

I believe in small government, less taxes, a free market healthcare system... I support our police, our military, believe in freedom of religion, freedom of speech, support the second ammendment (just not blindly), hate political correctness... I could go on... How is that socialism and not centrist?

I definitely side with a lot of conservative pov's and would have loved to have seen John Kasich as our president after all was said and done. It's the religious right and neo con insanity that I can't stand. I tend to lean on the side of science and pro choice. That's usually where I lean more left, but true conservatives believe in science and aren't usually bible thumping wingnuts.

And pretty well documented I was no fan of Bernie. I am not about busting my ass for years only to give a lot of what I earn away. I believe in true capitalism. Socialism is a recipe for a society of mediocrity.

Socialism is a broad term as is capitalism. You're where you are today thanks to a form of capitalism. Sweden, Norway, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Holland, Canada, Germany....you get it, have done pretty pretty well with a form of Socialism.

Unfortunately the end game for pure capitalism is an endless cycle of repression and civil wars.

Not to mention, even the most stalwart right wing capitalists are openly questioning the impact automation is going to have on capitalism's pragmatic viability.

This is what drives me crazy about such discussions. So many people just think in black and white terms. There are tons of socialist ideals in society (homeless shelters, high school education, public transportation) just like those which are capitalist. Neither is evil or horrible...
