Haha of course. HG is a good guy irl im sure.
I do believe this was just a long toll job, You guys made Larry feel important here something he has never felt in his life. You made him forget he is just a busted low life, No money, No real job, No girlfriend nothing. Here he thought he was the “Man” that’s just Lol
You forgot his mom threatened to shut down his credit card.
Like how many middle aged guys have moms credit card other than Tyde and Druff. How does this work? Why do they bankroll these guys forever?
Get a fuckin job.
Drexel is in our head though. Crafty mofo. Elevated game.
You win. I call. I call. I call. Show me (Friday)
This community has been doing this exact thing to Jewdonk for 10+ years. A literal mentally unhinged sociopathic individual gets propped up by the "Tyde is God" BS and what you get is the cyclical appearance>OK posts>meltdown>drunk shit posts>ban process that has repeated itself constantly.
In my defense, I always know what I'm getting when I bring back Young Curacao. I am under no delusion that he will remain calm or stay unbanned long term.
I sometimes try to give the people what they want. However, given that the crowd has largely turned on him due to the hutmaster debacle, the people may not want him back next time.
Larry and Scott actually have some similarities:
- Both are Jews.
- Both are between 31-34 years old.
- Both are/were avid PFA Radio listeners.
- Both texted frequently with both myself and Brandon.
- Both were pleasant/normal when meeting up in person.
- I got to genuinely like both of them, and I believe so did Brandon.
- Both suffer from perpetual money problems and seemed to believe poker would eventually lift them out of it, yet both do still have jobs (to my knowledge).
- Neither appear to be bad people, but rather suffer from a combination of paranoia and the tendency to blame others when things go wrong (which often goes along with paranoia).
I do think that Scott has more honor than Larry, though. Larry literally told Brandon to eat shit over a 2-figure debt for none other reason than being mad at him. Scott indicated that he was always going to pay Brandon, even when they were having issues.
Indeed, right now Scott doesn't owe Brandon anything (well, except perhaps payment for Brandon's time for opening 70 $5 chips stapled in paper), while Larry skipped out on a lol 2-figure debt.
Tyde is the best thing going for this forum. No disrespect to Hutmaster, but he could drop dead from a cholesterol driven heart attack (or cardiac arrest) and nobody would give a shit. In fact, I forgot the guy even existed for like 5 years. It's not a slight on him, he is just not interesting. Kind of like Felon, he was an hot topic for a couple years and he was just tossed on the scrap heap of the forums. Hoser, same thing. Even Michael is a drifter on the forums.
The only staying power the last 8 years has been Tyde. I would not dismiss him in the manner you did. Plus he is making $15,000 a month, which makes him quite powerful to the forum long term. He is making more than most on here that is for sure, which makes him somewhat unpredictable.
Something else I wanted to say regarding these situations we've had recently (including the Jewdonk/hut one).
Something I've learned over the years is to absolutely, positively stay away from any kinds of loans or credit to forum people with money issues.
In the past, even I have occasionally taken sympathy upon someone with a convincing sob story, and loaned them small amounts of money. (Remember neverheeb and the $100? Lol... and there were others.)
In all of these cases, they were longtime community members who seemed to legitimately be having crippling money issues where they were about to be evicted and were down to their bottom dollar -- or at least so they said. These were people who were always nice/respectful towards me, and I felt bad for them, so I threw them a small loan, with their firm understanding that I expected to be paid back within a short time.
In most of these cases, I never got the money, or when I did, I had to keep pressing them for it.
In most of these cases, I never called these people out. I probably should have, but I guess I still felt bad for them, even though I clearly saw they had chances to at least make small payments of $50 per month or whatever, which would have knocked the debt out within a relatively short time.
In a few cases I did get paid back. In one of them, someone who had left NWP (not anyone well known, but a guy I got to know privately) owed me $400 for years, and I wrote it off. Shortly before the "breakup" between me and Micon, the guy saw Micon around a casino, approached him, and said, "Here's $400. I owe this to Druff."
So occasionally they make good, but usually not.
So we have Larry who owed Brandon a 2-figure sum of money and decided to screw him for no other reason than his paranoid delusion that Brandon ruined his chance to be on Live at the Bike.
We have Scott who borrowed money from Brandon when in a serious bind, couldn't pay, send him those weird individually wrapped casino chips as payment, and then got angry when Brandon wouldn't rush down to the Rio, cash them all, and send him the $65 overage.
We have Jewdonk, who was treated better than family by hutmaster when he was broke and living in his car, only to screw him out of $500 and refuse to pay it back for over a year and a half, until shamed on the forum.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Brandon has a big heart and always tries to help out those in need. Every time it backfires on him. It all started with rawwolf and the moldy cheese, and went from there.
I have a firm policy I enacted about 2 years ago, and far too late to be honest. Unless it's a really close friend, if someone I like comes to me for a loan, I have to say no. Sometimes it pains me to say it, but I say no.
It wasn't.
In fact, cleatus was the opposite.
Years after the people of DD donated money for his scooter, he went around the Rio during WSOP looking to pay people back, including me. It actually bothered cleatus that he wasn't able to locate some of the people who had donated, and that I didn't have a way to reach them anymore.
Timing
I know you took a liking to the kid Larry, Even posed for a picture if I remember correctly but it seems you like to be around people who have less then you like ken etc. It’s a weird thing that I do also, I have a few friends that have nothing and I will throw them a small loan every now and then
It's most likely a combination of statistics and Druff's lack of self-importance. The statistics part is that *most* people he is likely to meet through the forum or elsewhere aren't likely to be better off than Druff. Especially with all of the nearly broke degens in poker. And the ones in the poker world who are financially better off than Druff most likely have a pole up their ass regarding how important/special they are, which prolly would piss off Druff to no end.
And Ken doesn't count because he's a longtime friend.
Seriously, bro. You're prolly just describing yourself.
Dirty nails mumbles and Loopy Larry conversating over the phone is probably the funniest shit ever......
Instead of donating to next freeroll, donate to a wayward poker fund, where meals, shenanigans and such can be paid forward to a playa in need. I cant support bashing an old timer poker player down on his luck. Help a nigga out.
with peterdc back around in vegas, maybe someone can track his ass down and finally get him to pony up chaps' prize from years ago.
The most surprising part of this entire thread is that we don't have a :lobstermac: yet.
BREAKING:
I have been told through a third party (not Mumbles) that Larry is willing to pay Brandon, and will send me bitcoin shortly, which I can then forward to Brandon.
Happy to see Larry doing the right thing
i really hope he pays Brandon, I never thought Larry would do something like this, especially to Brandon who seemed to show Larry a good time in Vegas. Do the right thing Larry.
