Looking more like the cause is the back injury from a surfing accident. Probably is denial of revision surgery. Some talk of YouTube video for after he was caught trying to find.

Guy worked at firaxis games and has quite the online presence.
Twitter just suspended his twitter account which had a huge history to it
I guess he thought the McDonald's employee wouldn't notice or give a shit. Just like they don't give a shit about the food.

Let me get this straight:
Killer is Luigi Mangione, Ivy League grad with degrees in comp sci, avid reader and active contributor on GitHub.
He has a 130+ IQ but he takes off his mask at a Starbucks to flirt with an employee, then an hour later goes and calmly kills the CEO of a major healthcare company, rides away on a bike.
A week later goes to a local McDonalds where he brings the murder weapon, the fake ID he used to check into a hotel, and a written manifesto on how horrible the American healthcare system is. He somehow gets identified by the cashier after he sits down.
He works on his laptop until police come inside the McDonalds, sitting there with a ghost gun and suppressor he made himself.
Gotcha.
The Rybrows were a big giveaway.
He should have thought about this and trimmed them down to look more typical.
The taking off of the mask might have been a split second decision where he was afraid he would be reported to police if he didn't. But of course, that was stupid because he hadn't committed any crime yet, and his ID was fake, so even if that chick remembered him, it would be took late, provided he left no prints behind. But perhaps he thought nobody would connect him to the shooting if he just pulled down the mask and otherwise acted normally.
But yeah, carrying around all this stuff was retarded.
High chance this was about his back. From the abs pic, obviously the guy liked to work out and be active. When your back hurts badly, you feel 90 years old. Pretty much shuts down everything active. I don't usually have back issues, but in mid-June I started abruptly having back problems while in Vegas, and it lasted 2 months, and didn't improve one bit. Then one day I woke up with it significantly better, and within a week, it was all better. HUGE difference regarding my ability to be active. I'm guessing United denied him some kind of procedure to correct it that he thought was needed, and he sat there at home every day stewing about it, and then just completely snapped.
His Twitter showed a friend being concerned in July that he disappeared and wasn't talking to anyone, and in November that friend echoed the concern again.
I don't think it was about the grandparents. Usually people rage about the healthare system when it involves themselves, their kids, their parents, or their spouse. Grandparents are a little too far removed, even for those who are very close to them.
Given that it was clear from the pics that the guy was young, I figured maybe he had a middle-aged parent die from United refusing to cover something. But no... I'd say it's highly likely his own back.
I think he was having fun with the chase and mocking authorities, but when you’re carrying the gun and a manifesto, on some level you want caught. He could have made it a lot further than Altoona.
What an interesting follow list. I almost commented earlier he struck me as a Brett Weinstein Sam Harris type kid when I read his Twitter. Reminder not everyone is as linear as it’s a lib/MAGA shooter.
Edward Snowden
AOC
Trevor Noah
Ezra Klein
Sam Altman
John Spencer
Patrick Bet-David
Joe Rogan
RFK Jr
Brett Weinstein
John McAfee
Bret Weinstein / Sam Harris type is a good guess.
That follow list does come off like someone who is an anti-establishment populist type. Some of his social media posts seem to indicate that, as well.
This makes it even more likely that it's about his own back injury. Probably already hated the "system" in general, and then when he couldn't get approvals from United Healthcare to fix his back, and his active life abruptly ground to a halt, he completely snapped and wanted revenge.
He also reminds me somewhat of Ted Kaczynski.
Intelligent, educated guy who hates the establishment to the point where it drives him insane, and he then seeks to kill those who are symbols of it. Except in this case, it was more likely personal than just ideological.
Kaczynski's murders, by the way, were set into motion by a new road built in Montana. He had a particular hike that he had remembered as peaceful, isolated, and beautiful, which he took every so often. After not taking it for a few years, he felt he really needed it, and did it again. He was shocked to see they had built a road through a hill which was part of the hike's scenery, and felt this road had completely ruined the hike. This made him believe that modern society ruins everything nice, and he started his bombings as a protest.
The Grandparent angle is not plausible. They were loaded, and Grandpa owned a country club, a radio station and a $2M home when he died. Whatever healthcare he needed he was getting. Still not ruling out the homosexual angle.
Seeing this is the 2nd apprehension because of a McDonald’s employee, the next shooter needs to go strictly to Popeyes.
Regardless, this wasn't some super assassin, hired ex-Mossad hitman, corporate hit, jilted gay lover etc. - this is a guy who likely has a combination of motives from being fucked over personally and seeing those around him experience the same. It looks like he for sure volunteered at an assisted living facility that the wealthy side owns once for a few months as a teenager and might have again at some other point. (One side of his family is at least somewhat wealthy, but this obviously doesn't mean the other side is.) If the guy had a soft spot for the elderly, seeing how they get fucked around by the healthcare system probably drastically changed his worldview. The media is trying to create a narrative.
What a bag fumble, could have lammed it a bit longer and skirted justice.
LOL at all the poors who can't afford healthcare cheering for murder.
Our system only benefits the wealthy and unhealthy who need pills to walk.
He was wearing a medical mask and beanie when he was arrested which that employee at McDonald's was able to identify him with.
The only thing he contested was the amount of cash ($8,000) and ($2,000) foreign currency on him. He claims it wasn't his. He didn't have that much money.

this is the absolute perfect conservative conversation.
it starts with an assertion thats fundamentally invented but paints the right as oppressed by invisible powers and the response simply accepts and amplifies the assertion while inviting people to fill in the blanks because wink wink we all know why; its because the right is oppressed by invisible powers.
and straight to PFA it goes.
