One more thing, Florida is now +800,000 registered voters that are Republican. There is a 0.0% chance it would ever flip Democrat in a generation. It's no longer anywhere close to a battleground. Even Miami is Republican.

Remember that Clinton knocked out GW's daddy in 1992 -- an election which as recently as early 1991 was assumed to be a slam dunk reelection for GHW Bush.
You'd think there would have been some residual Bush family bitterness over this, but there wasn't. Keep in mind that GHW Bush's legacy would have been much better had he won reelection. The economy was already turning around when November 1992 rolled around, but nobody felt it yet. By the end of Clinton's first term, there was a big recovery going on, and he cruised to reelection. And he unfairly got credit for "solving" the Bush-era recession.
The Bush family despises Trump, though. Not only was Trump's 2015/16 primary campaign mainly centered upon criticizing the GW Bush years, but he was incredibly mean to Jeb, who was the presumptive big favorite to get the nomination. Jeb never recovered from the "low energy" jabs.
It would not surprise me one day to see GW Bush come out as a Democrat, mostly to give a middle finger to Trump's GOP.
