Republicans have been just as drunk on Malignant Overspending Disorder as Dems. Trump's deficit spending was not good. But no more horrible than dems when they are in power. And Trump did campaign on balancing the budget in a 2nd term. He's known for keeping his word on campaign promises.
This issue ain't about republicans or democrats. They are both guilty as shit of spending money that don't exist. It's about pulling America out of the mass psychosis of Malignant Overspending Disorder. The whole country is fucked up on this disorder. The American people need to snap out of it. Cold Turkey.
He's known for keeping his word on campaign promises.
:hof
Yes, it is hall of fame stuff.
Trump campaigned on:
Shutting down the illegal immigration. He delivered.

Appointing conservative SCOTUS judges. He delivered.
Keeping us out of foreign wars. He delivered.
Repealing the Obamacare mandate. He delivered.
Cutting the corporate tax rate. He delivered
Enacting a federal hiring freeze. He delivered.
Withdrawing us from the trans pacific partnership. He delivered.
You may not like what he did but you can't say he didn't keep his promises.
Shutting down the illegal immigration. He delivered. No he didnt
Making America energy independent. He delivered. Biden delivering

Rightwing group behind regressive US state laws to face protest at DC gala
Environmentalists, gun reform campaigners, union leaders and voting rights activists will protest outside the $750-a-ticket event at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC, calling on corporations to cut ties with Alec – a tax-exempt group behind a slew of regressive state laws including the stand your ground gun legislation, right-to-work labor policies and so-called critical infrastructure protections that criminalize protest against fossil fuel polluters.
“They design cookie cutter legislation to pass to state houses across the US, helping pass laws that make it harder to vote, harder to get healthcare, harder for workers to unionize, and harder to get dark money out of politics,” said Svante Myrick, CEO of People for the American Way, one of the rally organizers.
“The model bills sound like they are protecting our country but are actually designed to protect corporate interests. We have to shine a light on this,” said Viki Harrison from Common Cause, a group which for years has pushed corporations to break ties with Alec over the racist impact of its legislation.

NEW YORK, Aug 8 (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil production is expected to rise by 850,000 barrels per day to record 12.76 million bpd in 2023, according to a monthly report from the Energy Information Administration on Tuesday.
Crude oil production is expected to rise by 330,000 barrels per day to 13.09 million bpd in 2024, EIA data showed.
US oil output is now projected to rise to an average of 12.8 million barrels per day this year for the first time ever, according to federal estimates released Tuesday. For context, that's about half a million barrels per day more than the prior annual record set in 2019.
Trump’s escalating violent rhetoric is straight out of the autocrat’s playbook
Twice in the past two weeks, Donald Trump has suggested violent consequences for those who dare to cross him.
Mark Milley, the outgoing chairman of the joint chiefs of staff? He deserves to be executed, Trump charged. Milley’s backchannel communications, intended to reassure Chinese military leaders before and after the 2020 election, amounted to a treasonous act “so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been DEATH!”
“Treason is treason. There’s only one cure for treason – being put to death,” parroted one Trump supporter in Iowa when asked by an NBC News reporter about Milley.

Biden administration waives 26 federal laws to allow border wall construction in South Texas
McALLEN, Texas (AP) — The Biden administration announced they waived 26 federal laws in South Texas to allow border wall construction on Wednesday, marking the administration’s first use of a sweeping executive power employed often during the Trump presidency.
The Department of Homeland Security posted the announcement on the U.S. Federal Registry with few details outlining the construction in Starr County, Texas, which is part of a busy Border Patrol sector seeing “high illegal entry.” According to government data, about 245,000 illegal entries have been recorded in this region during the current fiscal year.
“There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas,” Alejandro Mayorkas, the DHS secretary, stated in the notice.

Millions of illegals were coming over the border every year. Trump cut it down to to a trickle. Then Biden opened up the floodgates.
Corporate taxes are not paid by corporations. The cost of taxes are built into the prices of goods and services. High corporate tax rates mean higher prices to consumers. No consumer is excluded from this cost. Even the poor pay corporate taxes.

Lowlife with small brain and big mouth’: Trump hits out at ex-aide Kelly
Remarks made days after former chief of staff confirmed reports about Trump’s derogatory attitude to members of US military
Kelly left the Trump administration in December 2018. After that, he was widely believed to be a source for stories in reports and books detailing Trump’s dismissive attitude to wounded and dead soldiers and their families.
This week, Kelly – whose son, Robert M Kelly, was killed in Afghanistan in November 2010 – went on CNN to discuss such stories on the record.
Kelly also called Trump “a person who is not truthful regarding his position on the protection of unborn life, on women, on minorities, on evangelical Christians, on Jews, on working men and women.
“A person that has no idea what America stands for and has no idea what America is all about. A person who cavalierly suggests that a selfless warrior who has served his country for 40 years in peacetime and war should lose his life for treason – in expectation that someone will take action.
“A person who admires autocrats and murderous dictators. A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our constitution, and the rule of law.
“There is nothing more that can be said. God help us.”

the incident is just the latest in a series of violent threats against public officials.
Evers, a Democrat, was on a hit list of a gunman suspected of fatally shooting a retired county judge at his Wisconsin home in 2022. Others on that list included the Michigan governor, Gretchen Whitmer, and the Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell.
Whitmer also was the target of a kidnapping plot in 2020.

Jack Smith probed Trump’s nuclear subs discussion with Australian billionaire: Report
Former President Trump allegedly discussed classified information about U.S. nuclear submarine capabilities with an Australian billionaire at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago club after he left office, ABC News reported Thursday.
The billionaire then passed the classified information on to others, who reported the disclosures to federal special counsel Jack Smith, according to reports.
Trump allegedly discussed the submarines with billionaire Anthony Pratt in early 2021, disclosing classified information about how many nuclear armaments they carry and how close they can travel to Russian submarines without being detected.
ABC News reported that Pratt later shared that information with more than a dozen foreign officials, several of his own employees, and multiple journalists. The FBI and Department of Justice prosecutors have questioned Pratt about the information at least twice.
Smith charged Trump with illegally holding classified documents at the Mar-a-Lago property in June, alleging that he hid them from Department of Justice investigators. That case is scheduled to go to trial in May.
That case does not include mention of the alleged disclosures to Pratt.
According to those Pratt mentioned the conversation to, Trump told Pratt that Australia should purchase U.S. submarines, then disclosed the classified information while “leaning” toward him, as if to be discreet. He told a total of 45 people about the interaction, ABC News reported.
After months of negotiations, the Biden administration agreed to sell at least three nuclear-powered submarines to Australia in addition to training and other aid in a three-country defense agreement with the U.K. in March. Those submarines will not carry nuclear weapons.

Cynical Publius
@CynicalPublius
So John Kelly is out smearing Trump saying Trump hates the military.
Allow me to first establish my bona fides: 22 year Army vet, retired officer, 3 combat tours, 60% disabled per the VA.
Having established who I am, I believe Kelly is lying (he is a Milley buddy after all), but even if what he said is true, I don't care. I'll tell you why. Rhetoric is one thing, action is another. Let me tell you about Trump's ACTIONS while in office:
1. Trump did not start another useless, endless war.
2. Trump did not throw away the sacrifices of our military in those already-existing useless, endless wars.
3. Trump alienated all of the architects of those useless, endless wars.
4. Trump did not treat the military as a political pawn.
5. Trump focused on the one true vulnerability of our national defense--the invasion across our Southern Border.
Trump's ACTIONS showed more honor and respect for our military than the actions of any of the bloviating "thank you for your service" politicians who see war and the troops as mere political campaign issues. As a soldier, I feel more allegiance to Trump than any other President in my lifetime. Trump had our backs, all of the time. All of those other Deep State types had our backs only so long as it was politically convenient.
THAT is why I support Trump, notwithstanding the words of a feckless Deep State scoundrel like Kelly.

Hillry thinks team retard needs to be deprogrammed LOL
She is right
Hillary Clinton says Trump supporters may need to be ‘deprogrammed’
In an interview on CNN the former senator and secretary of state also called the ex-president ‘an authoritarian populist’
Sadly, so many of those extremists … take their marching orders from Donald Trump, who has no credibility left by any measure,” the former first lady, senator, secretary of state and Democratic nominee for president told CNN.
“He’s only in it for himself. He’s now defending himself in civil actions and criminal actions. And when do they break with him? Because at some point maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members. But something needs to happen.”
The billionaire spent four chaotic years in power before losing to Joe Biden in 2020. Refusing to accept that loss, Trump stoked the deadly January 6 attack on Congress. That brought his second impeachment, which, like the first, he survived. He now faces 91 criminal charges (17 related to election subversion) and assorted civil threats but is nonetheless the clear Republican frontrunner to face Biden again next year.
Clinton said: “I think, sadly, he will be the nominee and we have to defeat them. And we have to defeat those who are the election deniers, as we did and 2020 and [in the midterms of] 2022. And we have to just be smarter about how we are trying to empower the right people inside the Republican party.”
Clinton was speaking after the fall of Kevin McCarthy, who became first US House speaker ever ejected by his own party thanks to pro-Trump extremists.
Clinton called Trump “an authoritarian populist who really has a grip on the emotional [and] psychological needs and desires of a portion of the population and the base of the Republican party, for whatever combination of reasons.”
Republicans, she said, “see in him someone who speaks for them and they are determined they will continue to vote for him, attend his rallies and wear his merchandise, because for whatever reason he and his very negative, nasty form of politics resonates with them.
“Maybe they don’t like migrants. Maybe they don’t like gay people or Black people or the woman who got the promotion at work they didn’t get. Whatever reason.”

Former aide to Republican fabulist George Santos pleads guilty to fraud
Nancy Marks tells court on Long Island she and congressman submitted campaign finance reports embellished with fake loan
The ex-treasurer for US congressman George Santos pleaded guilty Thursday to a fraud conspiracy charge and implicated the indicted New York Republican in a scheme to embellish his campaign finance reports with a fake loan and fake donors.
Nancy Marks, who was a close aide to Santos during his two congressional bids, entered the plea at a federal courthouse on Long Island, where she was a longtime political operative and bookkeeper for multiple candidates.
Speaking to the judge, Marks said that among other things, she and Santos had submitted bogus campaign finance reports falsely saying he had loaned his campaign $500,000 – even though in reality he did not have that kind of money and the loan did not exist. She said the purpose of the fake loan was to make it look as if he was richer than he really was, which might attract other donors, including a Republican committee.

Trump reportedly revealed submarine secrets, adding to pattern
Donald Trump allegedly shared classified information about nuclear submarines with a foreign billionaire, which means it's time to update the Top 10 list.
n fact, as regular readers know, Trump has allegedly been so careless with national security secrets on so many occasions that I’ve put together a Top 10 list documenting the phenomenon. Now seems like a good time to update our recent coverage:
#10. In May 2017, Trump had a chat with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte in which the Republican shared information about dispatching two nuclear submarines off the coast of the Korean peninsula. By one account, Pentagon officials were “in shock“ over Trump’s willingness to share such information. “We never talk about subs!” three officials told BuzzFeed News, referring to the military’s belief that keeping submarines’ movements secret is key to their mission.
#9. In July 2019, Trump had an unsecured conversation with U.S. Ambassador to the E.U. Gordon Sondland, while the ambassador was in a Ukrainian restaurant within earshot of others, in which Trump sought information on Ukraine helping target the president’s domestic political opponents. Larry Pfeiffer, a former senior director of the White House Situation Room and a former chief of staff to the CIA director, said of the call, “The security ramifications are insane.”
#8. According to evidence gathered by the special counsel’s office, Trump showed a classified map to a representative of his political action committee, and then made matters slightly worse by showing a highly confidential war plan to a writer. (“Secret. This is secret information. Look, look at this,” Trump was recorded saying, adding, “Isn’t that incredible?” ... It’s so cool.”)
#7. In February 2017, Trump discussed sensitive details about North Korea’s ballistic missile tests with the prime minister of Japan at a Mar-a-Lago dining area, in view of wealthy civilians/customers.
#6. In early October 2019, Trump publicly discussed American nuclear weapons in Turkey, something U.S. officials have traditionally avoided disclosing and/or confirming.
#5. In August 2019, Trump published a tweet about a failed Iranian launch, which included a detailed photo. As MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell reported, it wasn’t long before experts marveled at Trump’s recklessness with classified material.
#4. In October 2019, Trump needlessly blurted out all kinds of tactical and operational details about the al-Baghdadi mission in Syria. As NBC News reported at the time, “A few of those colorful details were wrong. Many of the rest were either highly classified or tactically sensitive, and their disclosure by the president made intelligence and military officials cringe, according to current and former U.S. officials.”
#3. In 2020, Trump disclosed the existence of a secret nuclear weapons program to Bob Woodward, to the surprise of national security insiders.
#2. In 2021, Trump allegedly shared classified information about American nuclear submarines with an Australian businessman, who allegedly proceeded to share the sensitive details with several others, for no apparent reason. The disclosures, the New York Times reported, “potentially endangered the U.S. nuclear fleet.”
#1. Just four months into Trump’s presidency, the Republican welcomed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergei Kislyak into the Oval Office — at the request of Russia’s Vladimir Putin — for a visit that was never fully explained.
It was in this meeting that Trump revealed highly classified information to his Russian guests for no apparent reason. The Washington Post reported at the time, “The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said.”
The Wall Street Journal added, “According to one U.S. official, the information shared was highly sensitive and difficult to acquire and was considered extraordinarily valuable.” It’s never been altogether clear why Trump simply handed this to Putin’s representatives.
This list, incidentally, is not comprehensive. There are other examples.

I thought MAGAmorons are against The U.S financing wars
GOP’s anti-Ukraine foreign aid charade has just been exposed
Republicans who have denounced aid for Ukraine sound completely different now, calling for the U.S. to help Israel in its fight against Hamas. Why is that?
I don’t know, all. I’m beginning to think MAGA GOPers aren’t the pacifists they’ve proclaimed themselves to be ever since Russia invaded Ukraine last year.
Their response to the explosion of conflict in the Middle East over the weekend is adding to my theory.
In February, several Republicans signed on to a bill, introduced by Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., that was aimed at ending U.S. military and financial aid to Ukraine. The “Ukraine Fatigue Resolution” was part of a broader push among Russophilic Republicans to slow or stop such defense aid in the face of Moscow’s deadly invasion.
“America is in a state of managed decline, and it will exacerbate if we continue to hemorrhage taxpayer dollars toward a foreign war,” Gaetz said in a statement at the time. “We must suspend all foreign aid for the War in Ukraine and demand that all combatants in this conflict reach a peace agreement immediately.”
To which I say, in my exaggerated hippie voice: “Yeah, totally, man. Peace, love, and save the whales.”
Of course, the GOP’s foreign aid charade has just been exposed — by Republicans’ reactions to the eruption of war in the Middle East.
“The reason we have this multibillion-dollar commitment each and every year to Israel is because we want Israel to have a qualitative military edge over everyone” in the region, Gaetz said Sunday on “Meet the Press.”
Keep in mind here that Gaetz and other Republicans have threatened to shut down the federal government over aid to Ukraine. In other words: MAGA GOPers are willing to grind the government to a halt to stop Ukraine aid, but say aid to Israel should continue no matter what.
Among other prominent Republicans, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia pushed a conspiracy theory involving Ukraine in her call for the U.S. to provide aid to Israel.
Appearing on Fox News on Sunday, Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio — who has repeatedly tried to end aid to Ukraine — preached about the need for the U.S. to help Israel:
We need to give Israel the time, the space, the resources so that they can win and win decisively and send a message to these evil people who did this to our great friend and great ally, the state of Israel.
It’s hard not to see the issue as indicative of GOP love for Russia, as well as a matter of Republicans choosing whom they want to protect from military might.
Aiding Ukraine means arming a fight against Russia, which MAGA GOPers evidently don’t want. But aiding Israel, in this case, means arming a fight against Hamas — or, more plainly — arming a fight against Palestinians, a largely Muslim group of people who have faced derision from conservative leadership in the U.S.
Even with Israel being a U.S. ally, there is reason to be wary of how we help its government, which has been sliding toward autocracy under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership. But MAGA Republicans seem gung-ho on providing Israel’s government everything it needs to quash its enemies.
As for the Ukrainians — that’s another story entirely.
