I stayed away from Lakers/Atlanta today, even though part of me wanted to take the over.
Recall much earlier in this thread (like 10 days ago) I mentioned that the Lakers should go over when playing against non-defensive teams, and otherwise the over/under is hit and miss and should be avoided.
Sadly I haven't put my money where my mouth is.
However, the Lakers are now 8-3 in overs, and their 3 unders were against Houston, Charlotte, and San Antonio. Houston and Charlotte are big time defensive teams (both averaging fewer than 92 points allowed per game), while Charlotte has been challenged OFFENSIVELY, only averaging 94 points scored (and indeed, a poor offense is what made that game go under).
But against teams where the Lakers have faced teams with more-than-average points scored and allowed, it has gone over every single time.
This is worth noting. It's also worth noting that Swaggy P's return should speed up the game's pace some, thus also boosting scores.
I am suggesting hammering Lakers overs against teams 200+ ppg allowed+scored unless the lines really start adjusting to it, because these seem to go over every time.
Lines that make you go hmmmmmm

Lookin like a 5-2 day on picks, with 4 of em coming crucial in the 2 game combos, unless Kings blow up in 3rd period.
I usually gamble on reg time only for NHL, good thing I chose full game on the Kings/Caps combo. Now for Kings 4-0 lead to hold up.

(KC @ OAK) - Player to score 2 or More TD's in the game?

Not a good start for the Chiefs and I'm being very modest saying that.
90 yard rush for a TD.. LMAO KC
Forgot to say well played by LeGarette Blount. He walks out on the Steelers on MNF before the game was over since he got zero play time so they snap can his ass and now he gets a two year deal with the Patriots who are obv winning right now. Talk about a bonehead shitty move working out to his advantage even though this comes off of how Jonas Gray just went off and he may not like it next year when the Patriots running game gets healthier.
Lol, Blount BNP
George Allen said, "the future is now".
Steelers cut Blount & Belichick picked him up just in time for you.
Csonka & Kiick
Belichick believes the passing game is passé?
Is THIS the WP big play?
If you have to Google "George Allen" or "Csonka & Kiick" - you lose.
LOL, well of course I didn't say well played by the Patriots who showed desperation in this move but Blount just binked a his two outer on the river.
Desperation? How so?
Practice dummies & 6th round draft choices are the essence of the Patriots MO.
O line is pretty good & the running game is a great new dimension. Let's run with it, so to speak
Belichick just picked up some hard hittin Negroes to go to work on your boys there. (Pulp Fiction)
Hardly a suckout either. Let's check Blount's cell phone records prior to MNF.
The Pats are are a bag of balls but the Coach is god.
Belichick the idiot GM was still 13million under cap. Brady looks downfield at a bunch of mutts. The loose change came in handy with Blount.
Blount really looked pretty good. He averaged over 4/ypc almost entirely in short yardage situations. He simply got stuck behind a freak on pace for 1500 yards rushing and like 90 catches for 900 yards. The steelers grabbed him because they thought they needed another power back with Bell dropping considerable weight. Ended up he's still running for power at lighter weight, hence little use for Blount and he got frustrated and acted like an idiot, but it's somewhat understandable.
The move shows they felt that they needed Blount going after him so quickly. I don't hate the play but just saying Blount is never going to be a star running back for any team over a long period of time. In the future he could find himself in the same spot having a game where he rarely or never plays. The Steelers dropping Blount so quickly probably goes deeper then just what he did on Monday night though for them to just snap can him like that. He was probably venting his frustration for a while now bringing negativity to the team if I had to guess.
Blount is a solid play for teams with a running back by committee approach but probably at the bottom of barrel in these situations (all team dependent) and is not going to be happy behind a workhorse RB as Bell is.
I do agree though when it comes to coaching Belichick is GOD and anyone who says otherwise is either diluted or needs to check their hater card at the door.
That's kind of the direction I thought Pittsburgh was going with Bell/ Blount. I thought they'd just be smoking weed and wrecking guys, but It really only showed up against Carolina. Bell is too multi-dimensional to take off the field being a good receiver and blocker. But yeah, the Pats with Gronk and that duo look like a team built for cold weather and the playoffs. Now that the playoffs appear to be going through NE, those type of guys have more value imo.
I guess the Vegas books must read this thread, because they realized that the Lakers have gone over every single time when they play an above-average-points team.
Now the Lakers/Dallas line for today is 217.5, which is kinda high and hard to fire on.
Keep in mind that NEITHER team is averaging anywhere near 217.5 points per game.
Here is an interesting game for tomorrow, though:
Atlanta is at home against Detroit.
Line is ATL -6.5.
Detroit is 1-5 on the road, Atl is 4-1 at home.
Now, against the spread, Detroit is 3-3 on the road, and Atl is 2-3 at home. So that's obviously nothing exciting.
Still, Atlanta has been getting the wins at home, while Detroit has been struggling on the road. Detroit is also 3-9 overall, while Atlanta is 5-5.
Both teams have lost lately, with Detroit nursing a 3-game streak and Atlanta a 2-gamer.
No line movement on this spread yet.
No line posted at all on Bovada right now.

Could someone please explain what teased 6 points mean? Im a rookie in your betting ways
NCAAB
CAL +5.5
If you combine two or more games you can tease them. What that means is say a game is Raiders -2 and another game is Packers -3. If you tease those lines 6 points it means you would get Raiders +4 (-2+6) and Packers +3 (-3+6). Both games have to win for you to win the bet. This would be a two team teaser at 6 points but you have teasers involving 3 teams, 4 teams,etc... at 6 points, 6.5, 7, and 10 on many books.
Lots of combinations and payout all depends on how many teams teased and at what points the book gives you but keep in mind if one game don't fall within your teased points then you lose the bet and a push usually results in a 3 team teaser becoming a 2 for example except in some circumstances a single push loses you the bet.
See Beer and Pokers other post about how they work.
As it pertains to football the only time it's ever good to tease is when you have a number that is within the "Wong Window". In short you want to make sure you cross both 3 and 7 as they are the most valuable numbers in football betting by quite a large margin.
For example this week the bears are -5.5 vs tampa. If you tease the bears you move the line to +.5. The only thing taking on the added risk of putting a second game in the wager is covering the possibility that the bears win the game by a FG and not a whole TD. Thats not a good value considering the added risk of a second game.
Now the Patriots this week are 7.5 point favorites. You need to lay over a TD if you want to back the patriots, a large number by NFL standards. If you tease them down however you are crossing not only 7, but 3 as well. In effect you are taking a bet that you need to lay a TD plus and turning it into a moneyline bet (sure the Pats could win by 1, but small possibility it lands exactly that way.
Also this week Cinci is a 1.5 point dog. Vegas is saying they are the better team but they are on the road. If you tease them up you cross 3 and 7 and are now getting +7.5. Vegas isn't even comfortable saying Houston is a FG favorite at home and now they got to beat you by over a TD. Decent value.
Stick to the Wong window when it comes to teasers and you will do fine. If a game isn't in the window and you want to bet it then Parlay it and get paid big when you are right. A large majority of the time when a non wong window game would win a tease bet at -110, it also would have paid the parlay at +240
