She is not and so with her it just seems Bill Gates will be fine. He probably expects it to some extent and these are very smart people remember. I just don't see it in her being that evil, or going after MAX money from him. She knows shell be fine id imagine one way or the other. I think Bill Gates prob knows she is going to get what she wants to some extent. But with here, sophisticated and smart I dont see her ever trying to do that to him. When he got married in 1994, Microsoft was already a big deal. Not quite what it was going to become, but still big enough to where Gates was a billionaire, and wasn't going to let himself get royally fucked in a divorce.
I wonder if his wife is going to continue going along with the "only leave the kids $10 million" thing, or if she's going to say fuck it and leave it all to them, now that she's no longer under Bill's controlling thumb.
The reason for the divorce likely isn't as interesting as people might want to picture. Melinda has complained before that Bill is a workaholic, so that's likely what happened here. Still kinda odd to suddenly decide this was unacceptable after 27 years, but I guess everyone has their breaking point.
Bill has been buying farm land, and is currently the national leader in farm land owned. His wife clearly didn't want to be a farmer's wife.
