JEW Make the Call: Which of these unfortunate events happened to me in 1974?

I was only 2 years old in 1974, yet I had some bad things happen to me that year.

I'll let you vote on what you think did or didn't happen to me that year.

It's one of the following:

- All of these things happened

- None of these things happened

- Three of the four happened, and one is fictitious



Incident #1: At a department store, a large plastic beam fell from a 20-foot-high ceiling and landed directly on my head.

Incident #2: I disappeared from a Mexican airport, and nobody could find me.

Incident #3: My preschool had a fire where 2 kids died and 7 got injured, but I got out unharmed because I happened to be by the door when it happened.

Incident #4: My preschool left me on the curb of a major, busy street, with zero supervision for 15 minutes.

#1 did not happen, you would have told the story by now and claimed a huge lawsuit. I mean it would have commanded millions in a settlement because the parents or the store would have no idea the long term brain damage to a 2 year old

#2 probably happened, although it likely is exaggerated since at 2 years old you would not remember, but yeah I can see a 2 year old wandering away from distracted parents and calling security

#3 here again, you would have told the story by now. Plus there would have been a TV documentary on it by now, I've never seen one, it would have made national news

#4 seems unlikely. I can't fathom any preschool teacher just putting a kid next to a parking meter and walking away. It just seems implausible. Here again, I think you would have told the story since obviously there would have had charges brought against the pre-school and possibly civil charges

So #2, you wandering away from your parents at an airport.

#1 doesn't seem survivable, although perhaps explains the fetish with the retarded.

Feel like #3 has been mentioned before? Maybe am wrong. Not sure how common Jew preschools were in 70's when most women raised their kids.

Going with #1 is made up, 2-4 happened. Losing your kid in a foreign airport would be a nightmare.

Not sure what you're talking about.

For many years I have posted threads like this on PFA. I wouldn't say it's for "engagement", but yes, it's to add content to the site to make it interesting for visitors, which is my responsibility as the sole owner.

These threads are only occasional, so anyone who doesn't like them can easily skip them.

I don't think it is possible for a 2 year old to survive an accident like #1, and since the only option you are giving (besides none of it/all of it happening) is that three out of the four are true, I am going with #2, 3 and 4 being true and #1 never happened.

None of these incidents happened, but a lack of oxygen at birth, AKA hypoxic-ischemic-encephalopathy, explains everything to this very moment

Can we vote for tine and Karen Nathan to have a date at skyline chili and record it?

None is my vote, 2 of them seem so weirdly phrased tho that who then fuck knows?

#1 is worded in such a way for it to be true there is some missing detail that wildly changes the story.

#2 is "obviously not true" because eventually someone found you, or you got adopted by mexicans which is an exciting new twist to the El Dan Druffo origin story.

#3 We'd probably have heard of that story by now unless you going through therapy and the memory came flooding back to you.

#4 "It did happen but you were a different age hence not true" situation.

I want to state that none of these are trick situations.

These either happened to me, or they didn't. I'm not going to pull shenanigans like, "Well it's true but it happened in 1977 so it's technically not true".

I guarantee that it's one of the following:

1) All are completely true

2) All are completely false

3) Three are completely true, one is completely false

Two months later, here are the answers:

This is probably my earliest memory. It was a hollow plastic beam, so despite the distance it fell, I didn't get hurt. I was fortunate that it broke over my head, which also lessened the force. My mom panicked, but I seemed fine (but confused) regarding what happened. Store employees ran over and apologized. Parents could have sued over this, but they didn't. I wasn't injured, though, nor did I even cry. I can only imagine how scared my mom must have been when it hit.




Incident #2: I disappeared from a Mexican airport, and nobody could find me.

My parents were checking in, then looked down and I was gone. The problem? They absolutely could not find me. The airport staff searched, my parents searched, I was simply missing. I'm sure my parents were extremely worried that I had been kidnapped and they'd never see me again. Why am I not posting in Spanish today from Acapulco? It turned out I wasn't kidnapped, but had run off to explore the airport. I was able to open a door which was supposed to be locked, which held some kind of baggage (maybe unclaimed baggage?) They didn't bother searching there because they insisted it was a locked door an inaccessible. It was only searched when I was still not found after 2 1/2 hours, as kind of a longshot. Despite it being mostly dark in there, I was found happy and unconcerned. I was playing with the luggage in there, and had opened some up and thrown around people's things (but didn't damage anything).

My mom showed up about 15 minutes after the preschool day ended. She was shocked to see me sitting on a curb of the busy street in front of the school, with no adults present. Even in 1974, this was outrageous. She went in and yelled at the people in the office, who couldn't understand they had done anything wrong. "This is what we do at the end of the school day," one said. "We lead the kids over to the curb to wait for you to pick them up."

She pulled me out of the preschool for good, and moved me to another one.
