Sex-separated athletics aren't done to create social separation. It's done in order to give women, who have a much lower athletic ceiling than men, a chance to play competitive sports without getting crushed.
There is no doubt that men have a much higher athletic ceiling in almost every sport. That is, the upper eschelon male athletes will always dominate all female athletes in the same sport, even the very best ones.
Therefore, it shouldn't matter what gender you FEEL you area. It should matter the sex you were born. If born male, you should be required to compete with males. If born female, you should have the option to compete with either. (On a side note, how many female-to-male trans athletes are asking to compete with men?)
Libs are just so stupid on this issue. It's mind boggling that they think it's remotely fair.

Based on the provided information, Lia Thomas's name has been removed from the University of Pennsylvania's list of individual swimming records.
This action is a result of an agreement reached between the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) and the U.S. Department of Education to resolve a federal civil rights investigation related to Title IX compliance. The Department of Education had found that Penn violated Title IX by allowing Thomas to compete in women's events during the 2021-2022 season.
As part of the agreement to resolve the civil rights investigation, the University of Pennsylvania will restore the records and titles of female athletes that Thomas surpassed, send personalized apology letters to those athletes, and will not allow transgender athletes to compete in female athletic programs. The university is also required to adopt "biology-based" definitions of sex in athletics and publicly state that males are barred from competing in female athletic programs.

It's a shame Dems walked away from pioneering transgender rights in sports, because it was a huge winning issue for Republicans. But it appears they just abandoned the issue. The funny thing is up until Trump, the Dems were always about the middle class white working man. They just walked away from that dude.
