Never a good sign for your lawyer to have attended a school like Cooley, much like you don't want to go to an American doctor who went to medical school in the Caribbean or Philippines.
However, I'd like to know why Cohen ended up at Cooley. Bad LSAT scores? Bad grades?
Not defending the guy, but sometimes people end up at bad schools because they goofed off at their previous school (due to immaturity), and then get it together at that point and take everything seriously.
So it can't be directly inferred that Cohen is a terrible lawyer because he went to Cooley.
But if I were hiring a lawyer, would I want someone who went there? No.
For the most part, a graduate of a prestigious law school is someone who indicated they were smart/hardworking enough to both get in and complete the rigorous program, so that's why you want someone like that representing you. The quality of the education itself is secondary to that.
Our own Master Scalir went to a bad law school -- Southwestern in Los Angeles.
He didn't do well on the LSAT because he struggles in math, and the "logic games" part of the LSAT is also math-like, so he flubbed 2/3 of it.
Anyway, he dropped out after 2 years and never finished. He had planned to become an ACLU lawyer.

Who would you trust more, the lawyer that went to the worst law school or one that went to the best? Pretty easy answer to that but I think it needed to be said. Plus not only is he shittier than almost all lawyers in the art of lying but him admitting he went to the worst one instead of just writing another college down like most would do is another feather in his cap. ohhhh..man...american u.. that's where dumb kids go that think they're smart. this is lower level than SU imo...don;t know much about cooley law, but it sounds like an african american high school in the inner city. much like yoiu would see in the white shadow with one one the van patton boyz
I think people nowadays confuse great attorneys with what they see on TV. What you see on TV are personalities who practice law. Johnnie Cochran of OJ fame was probably the most celebrated in this space.
Most law is incredibly boring. I was accepted to law school in the 1990s, UNC was the highest pedigree law school I could get in, which by the way is fabulous and a top 50 school which requires a large LSAT score (which I had, I perhaps could have gotten into Vanderbilt and Duke if I had retaken the test like 5 times but I was not interested in pursuing law after careful consideration).
The problem with being a lawyer is you sit at your desk most days at a firm and look up case law to apply to whatever it is you are doing. This notion that you are going to court on high profile cases is just fiction. It's endless paperwork and terribly boring. A good friend of mine makes $300,000 a year as a corporate lawyer and dreads his job every week.
Trump's attorneys were nothing more than pals whom he like and were loyal. Nothing wrong with that. The best attorneys are never going to be buddies with you though.
