It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?
BAD NEWS
Platinum members used to be exempt from resort fees. Now it will cost them $25 per night in Vegas, no matter which property, even in comped rooms.
This began on November 11.
If you reserved a stay after November 11th, you are exempt from the resort fee ONLY if you booked before November 11th. Otherwise, you will have to pay.
This applies to comped rooms, as well.
Diamond and Seven Stars members are not affected.
Gold members have had to pay resort fees since they were introduced. The only difference is that now they are $25 across all properties in Vegas, instead of variable.
There are no resort fees at non-Vegas properties for now.
The cheapest way I currently know of to make 7* is in New Orleans on the $1 Ten Play NSUD (99.8%) in the high limit slot area. $50,000 coin in (5,000 TC's plus bonus) with optimal play will result in a vig of $100 per session, or $1,000 over the ten sessions needed to get there.
Caveat: You *WILL* hit handpays while using this method, (most frequently by flopping three deuces and drawing the fourth on one or more of the hands.) and 6% LA state tax automatically comes out of these payouts. You can get it back if you're not a resident of LA, but it takes some doing. If you're not willing to put forth the effort to do it, one of the options discussed elsewhere ITT may be more suitable for you.
I apologize if this was answered in the thread as I skimmed extremely quickly. How much is a persons expected loss in order to achieve seven star? I know it's not really equivalent to poker terms, but if you compare to the wsop.com online, you must pay $200k in rake in order to achieve seven star. I assume that number is WAY higher than it takes to make it playing at Caesars properties.
I know it might not even be an exact science to get the number I am asking, because you need to earn 150,000 tier credits, but i'm not sure there is an exact dollar figure that needs to be wagered to reach that.

Thanks for the update.
A couple more things about being diamond. When you get diamond status (or if you renew diamond status) you get a free $100 meal credit. Just make sure you go to total rewards first and they'll give you a print-out.
Also, diamonds get 2 free shows a month in Vegas (at a Caesars property). I believe the highest value for this is the Penn & Teller show. You can also use your 2 free tickets for rides on the High Roller (which is what I did). Caesars basically does no advertising for this benefit so you just have to know about it.
And Druff, you mentioned that Diamonds have to pay resort fees now. They must have policy was either never instated or was reversed because I don't have to pay resort fees as a Diamond
BUMP.
Just updated this for 2020.
Just got the following email from Caesar’s regarding Tier Status changes do to COVID. Looks like you will keep your tier status earned in 2019 through 2021. I was hoping this was what they were going to do because I wanted to keep my Diamond Plus. For those who are planning on going back this year they have lowered the target for achieving the different tiers. Most notably Diamond Plus from 25K to 20K and Diamond from 15K to 12K.

yay i'll make diamond elite now. Will be funny when a bunch of players from wsop.com end up being the highest tier credit earners for the year assuming they don't reopen casinos for a long time.
Unfortunately, this doesn't help anyone like myself, who earned Diamond the normal way in 2020. We were going to have our Diamond until 1/31/22 anyway!
This is best for status matchers and those whose tiers were going to expire in January 2021... now you get an extra year.
Pretty impressive Druff to hit the number in about two months. I have no doubt you will make a strong argument to Caesars that they keep you diamond through 2022 if the virus keeps you out of Casinos next year as well. It kind of sucks that the main benefit for Diamond Plus is the lounges with Buffets. Think I’ll be staying away from those for a while.
Congrats Mrs. Micunt on the elite status with the flight credit. That’s a nice benefit and I hope things get better so you will be able to use it.
I was looking into that $600 flight thing, is it really even a good benefit? From what I saw you need to stay at a caesars property in order to use the credit, and you to pay for your room. According to what I see it says "1 free night in Las Vegas or Atlantic City for every 5,000 Tier Credits earned in 2020, up to 7 nights" So assuming you are allowed to combine those offers then you can fully book a trip for free. Also it seems you have to use the airfare for las vegas and can't use it to book a trip to a different property around the country.
You can do the 5,000 tier nights of which you get to a maximum of 7 over the phone and based on availability. Always ask to speak with a VIP representative as they have much more ability to work through the system. You can ask them to search all the properties for using these earned nights back to back.
I would not recommend burning the reward nights on weekdays. Use the earned nights for Friday and Saturday nights only. I once was able to get a suite at Caesers Palace on a Saturday night using a 5K tier reward during a slow period. If you have or make a profile on Caesers.com you will see a lot of cheap weeknights. With the pandemic rates are the lowest I've seen in my lifetime. For instance I have weeknights at Ballys for 10 bucks and weekends as low as $60. Since we are both diamond that's the real price plus tax no resorts fees. So try not to waste those benefit nights on a cheap weekday night. You can call ahead and book for the fall now it doesn't matter they will just hold the first nights room and tax. If the stay starts on a non comped night your are supposed to give 72 hour notice but if it starts on a comp night you can cancel up to 6 pm the day of arrival. So booking early is a no brainer. Rates move up and down similar to the algorithm the airlines used.
You can stay up to 11 days each booking. So you could do a 9 day stay checking in Friday and checking out the following Sunday. Use the reward nights for the 4 weekend nights & pay the small rates for the weekdays. For a poker player I would recommend Ballys as it's just a walk across the bridge to Bellagio and it's really center strip. The rooms are large because they used to construct them that way but they are totally renovated. I'll stop now I could write a book on this. Any questions let me know. But the flight credit is worth it in my opinion if used correctly.
Just to be clear if there was a Caesers reward Jeopardy Druff would probably beat me most nights. But I do think I could at least hold my own and hopefully could keep it close enough that I wasn't mathematically eliminated for Final Jeopardy.

I hit the number on January 1!
However, I can't make any argument to keep myself Diamond extra time. It will be a blanket policy no matter what, and I won't be able to talk my way out of it.
I never really liked Diamond Lounges much, so the loss of the buffet there isn't big to me. Still, I don't think I'll be setting foot in a casino unless I either get the corona beforehand or there's an effective vaccine. Or if the disease vanishes, I guess.
I know your not a big drinker which is a big draw to the lounge. In Atlantic City the lounges are a bigger deal than in Vegas with a much bigger spread. I was able to get MGM to hold my status after not being able to gamble much in 2018 because of health issues. Hopefully it won't matter and we will have a vaccine that works next year.
