LOL only Druff would tilt check out of the Rio during break of the most important tourney of the year for maids being in his room.

Also only Druff would phone 4 times saying nobody come in his room.

I see a 2 hour radio segment on this, starting with a recap of why he did this (due to the other rio issue he discussed last radio where someone stole shit).

I want to cry after reading that.


Just his way I guess, but the ME dinner break and life itself is way to short for shit like that.

not so much cry but defiantly made me sick to my stomach..... talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. just asking the maids to leave and dealing with it after would have been better msbe? i defiantly would be pissed off as well, and would have pissed all over the carpet and left a big shit in the middle of the bathroom for them to cleen up after i checked out.

The Rio-employees-busting-through-the-DnD sign is an ongoing hassle for me, and one I deal with every time I stay there.

I was exaggerating about the 4 phone calls. In reality, I made this request at check-in, and then called it in again to verify (and of course, the check-in request had fallen off) yesterday. After spending some time on the phone with them, they guaranteed me that nobody would be entering my room. This was BEFORE Day 2 of the Main.

On the way to the Main today, I saw the maid in the hallway. I reminded her that I didn't want any service. She agreed.

When I came up there during the first break (mainly because the bathrooms were jammed), the maid and some maintenance dude had just entered the room. I asked, "What happened to not entering?", and the maid was really apologetic.

"My supervisor... he made me... he made me. I tell him what you say, he make me come in anyway!"

I believed her.

Anyway, I had enough at this point. I deal with this every time I stay there for more than 3 days. They have an obsession with entering the room and busting through the DnD sign. No matter what I do or say, it always happens. I was just sick of it, and I hit my breaking point when I saw it happen yet again. Hotels need to respect guests' privacy. The Rio is the absolute worst with this. Oddly, Caesar's does NOT have this problem.

Since I had 90 minutes for dinner (which was much more than I needed, since I just grabbed some take-out from the American Bar and Grill), I said "fuck it", checked out, and went elsewhere.

I CANT FUCKING STAND when hotels do this. I also never understood why they do this and why they care if you get your room cleaned or not. Many times I will stay 2 nights in a place and never get the room cleaned. This isnt because I dont like a clean room. It is because it would be a complete disaster if someone stole my laptop.

The only times they should open the door with the DND sign on is a. Maintenace emergency or b. they have not heard from you in 48 hours and need to make sure you are not dead. c. Loud screaming indicating someone is being hurt. Other than that, they need to kindly fuck off.

Soooo...you are fucking 7* and stay at the dump that is known as the Rio? Pleeeeease...they have to do their crack-checks over there...why not just take a Caesars Augustus Tower room, problem solved? That 10$ Taxi from the Augustus entrance to the Rio most likely won't ruin you...

Haralabos Voulgaris was on the pokernews podcast earlier today and was very entertaining. He tells a story of a girl who tried to get someone dq'ed from the main event whom they don't mention her name on the podcast but all the hints definitely give it away that it's Barry Shulman's wife Allyn Jaffrey Shulman. She is miserable to play with and then later on Haralabob owns her hard in a pot when he sucks out when she let him get there super cheap.

Todd Witteles is a bracelet winner. Easily tilt him by telling him stories about poor customer service...especially about RIO maids being in your room during breaks after you went out of your way to tell them not to clean your room.
