    Sony Hacking Scandal
Execs Convinced It's an Inside Job

    http://www.tmz.com/2014/12/17/sony-h...investigation/

Sony execs are now convinced someone who worked for the studio is behind the massive hacking ... because no one from the outside could so precisely target the compromising information.

Multiple sources connected to the studio tell TMZ ... the strong, prevailing view is that the North Koreans are probably involved, but they used someone with intimate knowledge of the Sony email system to laser in on the most embarrassing information.

We're told the people at Sony who are investigating believe the hackers had intimate knowledge of mail systems and their configurations. They also believe the hackers have knowledge of the internal media distribution systems and the internal IT systems, including human resources and payroll.

Several people suggested a possible link between the hackers and Sony layoffs, which included a large number of IT employees.
Hackers Win: The Interview Is Canceled Across America
    http://gawker.com/hackers-win-the-in...oss-1672358907

Un light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film The Interview, we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release. We respect and understand our partners' decision and, of course, completely share their paramount interest in the safety of employees and theater-goers.

Sony Pictures has been the victim of an unprecedented criminal assault against our employees, our customers, and our business. Those who attacked us stole our intellectual property, private emails, and sensitive and proprietary material, and sought to destroy our spirit and our morale – all apparently to thwart the release of a movie they did not like. We are deeply saddened at this brazen effort to suppress the distribution of a movie, and in the process do damage to our company, our employees, and the American public. We stand by our filmmakers and their right to free expression and are extremely disappointed by this outcome."

And when they lay off all their janitors I suppose they'll blame the resulting mess on vandals.

Sony has gotten rid of thousands of employees over the last couple of years and over 200 employees at their Sony Pictures Entertainment California Headquarters back in March.

It's easy to believe that a pissed off former IT employee decided to teach Sony a lesson, give access and provide all the passwords to their servers in order to fuck them up. The FBI is probably looking at all IT employees who were recently fired.

This Guardians of Peace hacker group didn't just break into Sony's computers by accident with weak hacking tools that can be found on the internet.

The movie "The Interview" is not on any torrent sites right now and it probably won't be unless some rogue Sony employee decides to leak it.

What Is … A Hissy Fit? Jeopardy! Host Alex Trebek’s Angry Standoff With Sony Producers Revealed In Latest Email Leak Reveal

"Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek’s contract runs until 2016, but RadarOnline.com has learned he recently threatened to walk away during a testy standoff with Sony execs. The whole exchange was captured in explosive emails leaked by hackers in the latest Sony media dump, and Radar has all the details.

According to the emails, Trebek exploded in anger after he was asked to re-tape a segment of Jeopardy! Kids following an incident with a contestant."

So Sony caves and cancels the release of the interview. Like these fuckers could actually do anything besides releasing some emails. I wonder how the Sony insider got in touch with North Korea and how much he got paid for the files and info he gave them.

It's even easier to believe that Sony Pictures is just run by bean-counting baby boomers who think information security is a waste of money. This is consistent with them laying off so much IT staff and storing sensitive passwords in PLAIN TEXT documents. It's not surprising they assume it's an inside job. They probably still don't know what a joke their own security was.

A similar thing happened at their animation division, where they tried to save money by slashing salaries and relocating everyone to Canada (for tax incentives). Then they all scratched their heads trying to figure out why their reputation deteriorated, why their best vfx artists left to work for competitors, and why all their movies suddenly sucked.

    Shucks, probably saboteurs.

    "confirmed".

when we outted thaksin as backing provocateurs in the thai uprisings in 2010 we did so by chasing down the bank transfers. i know of no such smoking gun here.

    that said.

there was zero point zero doubt that DPRK called in some chips with the chinese APT scene to facilitate this at any point among security community.

the latest round of 'confirmations' are nothing but an attempt to hang culpability on DPRK regarding any potential escalations to physical violence/outright terrorism/acts of war.

they were probably paid at least partly in DPRK pharm grade meth, too.

DPRK has sent mercenaries / hit teams onto American soil on numerous occasions. Anyone thinking they would break from tradition for this hasnt been paying attention.

Obama chastising Sony over a decision probably suggested by the FBI is the naked face of comedy. Guarantee that if Sony was a bank, North Korea would be a seething ocean of radioactive slag by now.

A new message from the GOP "Guardians of Peace"...

"Now we want you never let the movie released, distributed or leaked in any form of, for instance, DVD or piracy."

"And we want everything related to the movie, including its trailers, as well as its full version down from any website hosting them immediately."

"we still have your private and sensitive data" and will "ensure the security of your data unless you make additional trouble."

    "Message from GOP."

New message from the U.S.A. to Kim Jong-Un and the country of North Korea...

    FUCK YOU!!!
