I watched about 3 seasons of it and got bored. But I'm still afraid of spoilers for some reason. I'm never going to look at this thread again.

Somewhat true. But they didn't know the series was going to go on that long and they cast some characters not knowing their roles would be expanded and their acting tested -- like Bobby Baccalieri.
Get real. MAYBE now, it wouldn't measure up.
But at the time it was ground breaking, there wasn't another show like it, period.

Vikings are better than the sopranos? they need at least 3 seasons to even be in consideration.
The Andrea episode was just great and where the show peaked and should have ended, like the the original plan.

For the time it was definitely novel but anyone who passed up an opportunity to fast forward past any scene with AJ, Carmella, or the daughter with the mustache after season 3 is half a fag at least.

That was a major point of that show, he isn't just a gangster, he has real life issues like everyone else. This was the first show that did that. Now they all do.
Its ok, I seriously doubt lil pony fans were in their target audience anyway.
Or they were just plot tangents grafted into an occasionally inspired criminal drama in order to broaden its appeal and fill HBO jew pockets with lucre.

Well I have to agree Vikings is awesome,
I'm in the middle of episode 8, they just took shrooms.
There's nothing groundbreaking about anti-heroes, those sort of characters have existed forever. I don't think the Sopranos even did a very good job at this. Virtually every character is shallow and unlikable, unrelatable and hard to root for. If character depth and moral gray area is your bag, the Wire does it better.

That said, I may be talking out of my ass since I only watched half its run. Maybe it got better.
