The fact he is on probation changes everything. The burden of proof for a violation is nothing compared to a real charge. They could violate him even if he somehow squirmed out of a charge in the charity case or pled it down to some bullshit. He is probably looking at 30-60 days any way you slice it.

If he happens to get a judge/prosecutor who looks at his record and thinks it is a pattern, could be bad news for him. Only thing that helps is the fact it was only a few grand we are talking about here.

I certainly hope Projekt: Step doesnt turn out to be a scam either (no vlogs, no updates for weeks) but thats definately an appropriate response if OSA is setting up a scam.


On a serious note, 1 reliable person as a contact from PFA makes a bit of sense and if it looks like its going blown off more people coming forward sounds reasonable.

Here you have Jasep in his own voice announcing how much had been received. This can be used as evidence against him, because he knowingly recorded himself and broadcasted it to the public.

If he cannot show that he actually submitted the money (sending a check today to cover his ass won't work), he has committed a crime, and the case is airtight.

Again, you need far less evidence to prove a probation violation to convict someone through a criminal case. This is because probation usually has very strict conditions that restrict people's usual freedoms.

For example, probation given to a DUI offender might state that the defendant is not allowed to drink alcohol outside of his home. All you need is some reasonable proof that the guy was out drinking, and you've established a probation violation. You don't need to catch him driving drunk again.

I am guessing that Jasep's probation has a number of terms regarding scamming and financial transactions to where some violation can easily be found here.

We believe he really did receive a threatening e-mail.

We also believe he sent it to himself.

But that's probably a hard thing to prove.

In these sorts of situations, you want to go the easy and simple route.

People watch TV and see cunning police investigators putting a lot of time, thought, and energy into investigating crimes.

That typically doesn't happen in real life. Most law enforcement personnel are overwhelmed, and have little time to investigate the more "minor" cases. It's always much better if you do as much work as possible for them, and then present what you have on a silver platter. When you do this, you have to make sure your information is straightforward, easy to understand, and easy to verify.
