Yes but perhaps not nearly as much as Mendes being the first legit wrestler Conor will have faced. But yes we are pretty much on the Mendes train here.
There is also the very real possibility that Conor will blow off making weight and show up 15+ pounds heavier than Mendes and settle for a non-title win with an asterisk and a belt match with Aldo once he recovers.

I get ya. My reasoning is basically that one of the major parts of a good fight camp is ramping everything up to a certain point where you are mentally and physically peaking right at the right time, on fight night, and everything for months is planned around that. Conor has that benefit, Chad does not. The Alpha-male dudes are in pretty good shape all year, of course, but not fight-night shape.
If that was how Conor wanted to play it, he'd be fighting Nate Diaz tonite, not Chad Mendes.
If your going to put your money on Mendes at least parlay it with Mcdonald. Mcdonald is going to wrestle fuck Lawler. To me thats as close to a lock as you can get. The odds arent great you would think the challenger wouldnt be such a big fav but its easy money. The more I hear Mendes talk I really believe that he plans on winning the fight. This to me is Connors 1st real test. Poirer was but he either took a dive or just got clipped in the wrong spot. I thinbk CM is for real and beats up Mendes.
We will find out shortly. At least the weigh-ins are on ufc.com cause FS1 has some stupid ladies golf.
Turn a little into alot

Hard to tell if Mendez will bring the money here, but OSA needs to save this one off on his hard drive for all the Rory Glory included.
I'm buying in too all the hype.
Shady J give me a break with this Rory Mcdonald hype train. Trying to decide what's more unlikely, the UFC being rigged or Rory beating iron man. Both seem pretty unlikely.
May be the most informative MMA vid I've watched.
I post plenty of bullcrap, but don't skip this one.
You'll be forever awakened to the world of footwork.
We'll see how well Rory reacts to Lawlers lead foot dominance attempts. He has a better chance than i thought.
