I read the two plus two thread on this which references this thread.
I think it is pretty harsh to questions Micons personal integrity when it come to this new site he is launching. His track record with the old site was great, and he isnt the type of person who is going to roll his customer base. In fact, all indications are that he had as many checks and balances in place as possible so that NO one lost their bitcoins.
How many people here hated on him when he started Seals to begin with? He ignored everyone and made it work. Granted, a lot of the hate was because of the legal issues, but the majority of it was people just thought it was a bad business idea. On that front, he proved a lot of people wrong. So lets give the guy some credit.
Can
we make a new site work? Maybe and I hope for his sake he does. But even he has to admit, this is a colossal cluster fuck right now. He needs to re establish the same checks and balances he had before with a new team to keep customers funds safe. Seals had tech issues that brought the servers down. We have no idea how much of the old team was part of maintaining security, and without them, perhaps it could get even worse. I think the three biggest issues with him starting a new site are 1. competition from other sites that are starting to get into the game and 2. getting players confident enough to deposit on a site with this potential legal mess hanging over his head. 3. He needs to figure out a way for the new server/software to have less tech issues. People will only tolerate a site down for so long before they jump ship especially given new options that didn't exist before.
There are a number of reasons to question viability of a new site and how stable it will be. However, I think questioning Micon's integrity as it pertains to keeping coins safe is unfair. I think he would do everything in his power to make sure players funds are safe. The question becomes is his new team as competent as his last team to make this happen.
