The Onion Field (1979)
Movie about the murder of a cop in 1963, that was a major story at the time. Also follows the court fight of the murders. Saw it last night for at least the 3ird time. Good movie, but in a dead pan sort of way. James Woods plays the lead and is a very peculiar character. Also stars John Savage, Ted Danson, Christopher Lloyd, Ronny Cox, and John de Lancie has a small part in it.
7.0 on IMDB, sounds like a fair rating.

The Purge: Anarchy better than the first one.
Watched this psychological thriller the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it, although the story was a bit dark and depressing.
There was plenty of substance and plot twists to keep me on the edge of my seat. At 2.5 hours it was a long sitting with some brutal torture scenes, but nonetheless it had to be that long to cram the whole storyline in there. I'd watch it again, but maybe leave it a year or two, as it was a bit on the darkside.
After watching Prisoners I decided to watch another recent Jake Gyllenhaal movie Nightcrawler.
This was also a decent viewing, but not as powerful and gripping as Prisoners. Gyllenhaal plays the lead, a somewhat awkward criminal drifter who is depicted as having the traits of a confident but socially misplaced psychopath. His acting in this stands out a lot compared to the rest of the cast, but I preferred his role in Prisoners which came across as more composed. It was a slow-burner as it only began to really pick up around halfway through, but I'm glad I stuck with it as I could have easily turned it off within the first 15 mins as that's what I'd often do when I'm not feeling it.
Pretty good take on the classic. It was interesting with Gary Oldman playing such an under-stated lead. Also, I'm watching whatever Alfredson does after seeing Let the Right One In.

Just watched fury road. Chaos from beginning to end. Loved it.
Just watched The Gambler with Mark Wahlberg and it was one of the WORST movies I have ever seen
Check out the ratings for the new Mad Max movie. I am hearing it is incredible.

This movie is a huge swing and miss. The only things this movie has going for it are Yolandi Visser, and the voice/motion capture of Chappie. Don't waste your time on this film.

The acting is great and Oscar Isaac kills it again (see A Most Violent Year). One of the better Sfi-Fi thrillers I've seen lately.
