This guy deserves a lot more than that, though not for this particular offense (grand theft auto).

He ripped off so many people, it's not even funny.

Oddly enough, if he had just banked his baseball earnings and kept the successful car washes he bought right after his career finished, he'd be rolling in dough.

If I had the criminal history of Dykstra, including violations of previous court orders, no chance I would get out of prison so early.

Pretty sure the defence proved their case that Dykstra was/is criminally insane.

So long as he agrees to long term treatment/ psychotherapy for his illness, his jail sentence is going to be the minimum. Also, yes it absolutely helped that he was a baseball hero once upon a time.

I started laughing when I saw how Dykstra portrayed his option trades on paper to investors. If ONE option traded at the price he wanted Dykstra counted all 1,000 or more of the options he would have traded as filled. Small customer orders are filled by traders to get them off the books. In no way does this mean you can trade a 1,000 at that price.

This would be the equivalent of saying if 100 shares of stock were traded at certain price you could trade a 100,000 shares at that same price. Ridiculous.
