Although they may have lost this battle, the nationalists are certainly going to win the war.

yea cuz the world would care about what the bank of scotland does LOL
Slava Ukraini!
The whole Bank of Scotland debate is about future tax revenues potentially leaving Scotland..
The "Yes" campaign claim it wouldn't make any difference either way. Obviously the other side disagree.
I personally believe that most of these companies were just scaremongering on behalf of the government. BoS included.
Given the potential nightmare financially it would've greated by cutting out 1/4 of the UK from a entity that is older then the US, yes I can see the folks being against it.. On the Brightside it made for one hell of a ride on the currency markets with all the GBP crosses (so much so a couple brokers cut the leverage on those pairs by 2 to 4 fold..
If this had gone through the biggest issues would've been what currency would Scotland use. It was assumed should they break away the pound wouldn't necessarily be allowed and the second is how much of UK debt would Scotland have been saddled with out of fairness by severing itself from a Union (England, Scotland, Wales and N Ireland) that predates the USA by over 100 years. (Believe the UK overall is roughly 350 years old in its current form).
Ironically. A sign from above prior to the vote
I thought it was a slam dunk for Yes but from what little I know Scotland is not rolling in the dough
so I'm sure that was in the mind of many voters.
Quebecers go through the same thing every so many years as well.
I fuckin hate chads.
