First time I have been excited for an apple product since the 4, especially the 5.5 inch version. Samsung is going to take a big hit in sales, they are already suffering in the low end market with all the cheap Chinese phones flooding the market
Also looking forward to iOS 8, they are allowing extensions, 3rd party keyboards, also if you have macs the ability to have " continuity". If you are working/ reading something on your phone you can continue on your Mac where you left off
Also the ability to sign in your apps with the finger sensor and make payments
They also will be announcing an iwatch, knowing apple it won't be hideous looking like some of the android offerings
Honestly the way I see the market right now...the variance for brand loyalty is either more or less static; the people I know who have an iPhone are getting a new one, the people I know who run Android are sticking with it, and there is a small number who switch up every 3-4 years (like me). So I dont think iPhone 6 is a market slayer per se, but Im ready to throw some love at it and rock the fuck out for another 2 years or so and then consider options.
That said, a potential game changer for me is the camera. It looks like the camera on the iphone 6 is top top, but if another unit ships with a flat out superior camera, I may go that route. Not to worried tho because Apple usually rolls with top tier cameras.

Disagree, my pony love friend . Plenty of people I know switched to android because of the bigger screens, some because android is a little more flexible in the fact that they can personalize it. Let's face it, the iPhone with their minor iterations became staid
They are excited about all the hardware and software changes and are willing to switch back to an iPhone
The iPhone has a better all round camera, especially in low light. Do you know that for the first time apple is allowing 3rd party camera apps access yo their API's like android does . This means these apps can take full advantage of the camera, looking forward to them
Rumours are that it might be announced/released later this year with a sapphire coated screengut: i just read "excited for 5.5 inch" rep

Bigger phone probably means bigger camera sensor and obviously battery
I have always wondered why iPhone does not incorporate a am fm radio tuner into there phones of course you can receive radio on all smart phones but as far as i know samsung is the only smart phone that incorporates a radio that does not require streaming data to receive a radio signal.
Any one in the vancouver area know's that AM 730 and CBC radio1 are the only radio station worth listening to. (traffic, ferry and border wait times)

I recommend not buying any early release if a phone, especially since this is a major design and hardware design. Reason been is that they are more than likely going to have some quality control issues due completely new manufacturing process.
I would recommend waiting for some feedback from the early adopters
Btw Samsung unveiled the Note 4, positive reviews about the quality feel of the phone

Problem with Samsung is that they are clueless in the software department, "touch wiz" is aesthetically displeasing and over complicated eg sometimes to change a setting it would take 3-5 levels, unnecessary
I just can't believe some people wait in line for over two weeks to be one of the first to buy an IPhone 6. I mean really???? Does the phone come preloaded with celebrity porn and a built in beer tap?
I have an ATT plan with four phones. One of my two kids annually ask to grab the upgrade and have alternated years between them.
They sell their old (virtually last years model) on eBay and bank a couple of hundred. They must have made a grand or two over the years.
I admired the hustle. Even if it was me who was being hustled.
The result is I am the 40 year old hipster rockin the iPhone 3G from like 2010. I could care less, as a phone is not a lifestyle choice. Made the punks happy, so WTF. 3G has been bulletproof though. I have owned everything from bricks, to Blackberrys and the iPhone is one consumer product that I've owned that has been a design masterpiece.
However, I am cutting them off and prolly grabbing the iPhone 6 4.5". I gave up the man purse, so it's got to fit in my pocket.
Apple gets my business til they disappoint me. Kids have all stuck with iPhones and apparently it is still the cool choice & they don't ever complain - they obviously have the phone welded to their hands 24/7.
One last thought... Apple has retail stores for advice and parts and whatnot vs other makes. Seems like an Apple advantage.
Edit: Jonathan Ive is god. The story of Ive writing resignation when Jobs saw him by chance and talked him out of quitting - the result was the iPod then iPhone look & feel.
Love that stuff.

Fluffer, what phone do you currently have that you are so eager to ditch?
