I think what I did before was deduct 25 % on a big score after breaking down the winnings with the buyin portion deducted , some people have told me I should deduct 30 % on a major score which I believe is correct but I am consulting my tax guy and checking with a few others first to see exactly what is the proper way to do this. I found some stuff here on this but some of it is grey and I will wait to gather more info

More or less everything on this pokerfuse artice hits the nail on the head according to my accountant and the many people I have spoken to in the gambling world.

US backers will get paid in full, if I hit a major score then they I get their tax ID and send them a form and they handle their own taxes or b. I can deduct 30 % but that option is up to them

Some countries have tax treaties with the U.S. where gambling income is tax free. Those people from those countries would be paid in full and I would also have to file a form on their behalf.

If I hit a major score and I have a non US backer who is not a part of that tax treaty then I can either deduct 30 % from their payout and they wash their hands clean or I pay their 30 % and they can try and recoup all or some next tax season.

Will you be open to wearing a PFA patch at the final table should Druff provide you with one? Better yet, maybe Cmoney can hook you up with some Occulus money or some v-stroker money for the final table. Would make a good patch and most people wouldn't realize it's porn related.
