AMZN just bought Whole Foods
I can't process this. You just can't take over the world without consequences. But the bubble market says he can. We worry about money later.
Bezos is crazy
aight they didn't have this in the advance business books...WTF is his end game with this one?
revolutionize on demand groceries? so adding a small margin business (maybe whole foods has better margins because of it being upscale) to your empire...not processing...if you are shopping at whole foods are you really worried about on demand ordering? I'm very confused..
First, Snake is first ballot HOF for his AMZN trade. Getting out on great timing. Chart driven not fundamentals. But price always leads news.
Second, I feel there will be another short here. Soon.
Finally, for all the yammering about how they will integrate - the perception from the inside at AMZN is that Bezos splashes around to learn a business or industry.
Drop a couple billion to learn the shoe business (Zappos) then fold up the tent. This has been repeated multiple times. Some don't work but that's acceptable to him. He is not accountable for timely returns on investment as you or I might be. He has a free ride on the back speculative & bubbly market.
When inflation hits, I need a return on my investment. I need earnings and dividends to overcome my daily loss. I need a company that actually turns a profit.
I ain't a fundamentals guy. Life is too short to gamble fundamentals and see how that works out. However, intuitively his business is built on the premise of cheap transportion (fuel). Cheap fuel 10 or 20 years out prolly ain't likely.
You could spend the rest of your life trying to divine their earnings report or reading analysis. What I do know is this is the poster child for cheap money and bubbly enthusiasm for TSLA-like dreams.
Snake, did you have a fresh round of puts on AMZN?
Breaking $970 would be a really big deal.
Good fun today. Is this the beginning of the Naz collapse or what?
Back to cash now. Going to reload again maybe tomorrow or wait till Monday. Tech is still going to get smashed. Hoping to catch the session where AMZN opens down 100+.
Tip: if you want a good stock to short, find a good entry point and short APRN.
Total shit stock imo. They just IPO'd a few days ago and i knew it was going to be shit before it even started trading. The whole concept of the service they offer has doom written all over it; being profitable is going to be an uphill battle for them from many different angles.
I was disappointed to open my wife's 401k account this morning. I had forgotten that I had rebalanced the account after the election to a more conservative allocation.
I did leave a bigger chuck and 100% of the contributions in a fund that mimics EFA so life isn't all bad.
Anyone catch the TSLA short?

Sometimes you get a stiffy and find yourself thinking about doing something stupid. Earnings come out Thurs.
I'll take a cold shower and pray Trump or something else rolls a bolder over the hill to start the avalanche... But I'm ready.
