Some outlandishly retarded notions of corporate structure. There are no managers or supervisors for instance.

I have been thinking of shorting AMZN hard. This news might be just the ticket.

I wouldn't doubt Tony, homie. He's a business genius, even by Harvard grad standards and he is exactly what all of these other phonies in the Pacific Northwest claim to be: a disrupter. Amazon's reimagining of distribution was a big part of Hsieh's strides with Zappos.

I don't like the idea of socializing the workplace and I would never work at a company that plays guinea pig by trying to eliminate meritocracies or eliminate any structural acknowledgement of superiority. However, there are a lot of young, utopian people in SF and Seattle who will.

Does anyone know how long it typically takes for a bitcoin deposit to complete onto Bovada?

I just opened a wallet and this is literally my first experience ever with Bitcoin. Its been about 15 minutes since the deposit was supposedly initiated, but nothing yet...and I don't even see a pending transaction in my bovada account or anything (but i dont know, maybe that is normal?)

it can take 1-2 minutes, sometimes 5-10 minutes. can't remember or sure, but it may have taken an hour once.

    thanks for the input

I just got back home and checked again - It finally went through. I thought at first I did something wrong. It took alot longer than what seems to be the norm - hopefully that was just a fluke or something.

Most of the time they take mins , only time they have taken longer for me is on some sportsbooks that wait for the 5 blockchain confirmations or whatever so max I have waited is a couple of hours

    Good to know

What do you recommend for a good wallet? like i said, im very inexperienced with any cryptocoin. I initially downloaded Electrum on my laptop, but when I was messing around on my phone I ended up depositing from my debit card onto Coinbase to use the exchange. Originally I was on Gdax and to be honest im not sure why I ended up starting my wallet on Coinbase other than the fact that they are apparently connected. I ultimately used my Coinbase wallet to deposit onto Bovada after I bought the Bitcoin from their exchange, but ive been hearing that Coinbase is not a good route to go?

So, next time should I buy my Bitcoin on an exchange like Coinbase and then send it to Electrum wallet?

Im sorry if I sound stupid with this...I wish I would have dove into this much sooner.

Never used Electrum so cannot comment on that and have not bought much bitcoin from the exchanges.

But in general most people say before you move money to a sportsbook or poker site you should move the bitcoin from wherever you are holding it then move it thru a wallet on blockchain.info (free to join) then just fire it to the sportsbook etc...

And when you cash out , you should move it to your blockchain wallet before you move it to an exchange to cashout.

So more or less, before it hits the sports site have it go thru blockchain and when it comes out have it hit blockchain then send it wherever

As far as cashing out on like coinbase or any of the exchanges I have dealt with they GOUGE YOU HARD on fees. Best thing to do is get a bitpay card. Then you can just move your coin from blockchain to there and you will only pay atm fees. Or if your going to cashout just try and sell it to someone like me or druff or anyone who wants bitcoin because you pay no fees that way to the exchanges.

If you have a GDAX account you should definitely be using that account for deposits and withdrawals rather than Coinbase.

GDAX is owned and operated by Coinbase but their fees are much lower than the fees on Coinbase.

Make sure when you deposit and withdraw from Bovada you move your Bitcoin to a wallet because Coinbase is very strict when it comes to online gambling. I accidentally deposited to Ignition directly from my Coinbase account and it didn't get flagged but I've heard a lot of people have gotten their Coinbase accounts locked for doing this.

I use the free Blockchain wallet but there are several others that work well.

OKcoin users are reporting that randoms are logging into their accounts and emptying their wallets.

OKcoin is basically insisting they arent hacked and its not their concern.

Given that 2.5m USD worth of coins are now in the wind, these dont seem like the types of people who are going to use easily guessable passwords or fall for the usual nonsense.

The only reason at this point it climbs is like XRP, news is around the corner. BTC's news is a possible fork which will give out free segwit2x coins. Thus buying in to receive free coins.

Now if those X2 coins sit around $200-$500 as predicted you are factoring that into the cost of a BTC at the moment. So actual BTC price would currently be 4700ish, not bad either.

So... will it hit $6k, not in short term I don't think, when the free coins are given price will settle back, if fork occurs. btw if the fork happens it could be ugly.

Tine makes a valid point, and it's not the forst tome he's done so. Something that in principle is worth an increasing market value isn't without risk if random owners are victims of having it stolen at an increasing clip. And the more valuable bitcoin becomes, the greater the incentive hackers have to figure out ways to steal them. And because those folks aren't likely to perpetually hold hands and sing Kumbuya in their efforts to cash in on such theivery, it is possible that competitive pressure among digital currency hackers could result in a singularity-type event that breaks the security of digital currencies. That, from what I've read from Tine's repeated warnings about bitcoin, is the underlying "dowkdown" risk that dig-currency enthusiasts may be underestimating. Amirite, Tineyman?
