Total Rewards Visa - Worth It?

    http://www.totalrewards.com/e-totalr...=TRjquery_visa

I am an infrequent enough gambler to achieve higher tier statuses from my play. I tend to just play poker or stick to low limit botting or low limit craps and blackjack. Anyone know if this is a good way to achieve extra bonus points? I have great credit and would just use the CC sparingly to get the bonus points.

Do you have Amazon Prime? The Amazon Visa gets you 3% cash back on Amazon purchases and 1 or 2% on other stuff. Your cash back can be spent on anything from Amazon with one click. I get about $50/month for doing nothing.

Someone correct me if Im wrong but I think a total rewards credit is worth 1c. Well I am no math prodigy but here is what their site says...

RECEIVE UP TO 10,000 REWARD CREDITS AS A BONUS

Use your Total Rewards Visa Card outside of a Total Rewards destination within the first 90 days to earn:
    - 5,000 Reward Credits after spending $250
    - An additional 5,000 Reward Credits after spending a total of $750

    YOU WILL ALSO EARN

5X Reward Credits for every $1 spent at Total Rewards resorts and casinos

2X Reward Credits for every $1 spent on airlines, gas and groceries

1X Reward Credits for every $1 spent everywhere else VisaŽ is accepted
This looks like $100 to sign up, $50 for spending $250, $50 for next $500. So if u sign up and spend 750 u will get $200 in total rewards credits which is pretty sweet. Then u also get 1% back in rewards credits unless its airlines, gas, and groceries where u get 2%, and 5% if its at their properties. Now this is not cash, only total rewards credits so unless u go to caesars properties a lot and are gonna spend the $ anyway it might not be worth it compared to a regular CC that gives u benefits.

If I were u I would sign up for this and spend 750 pretty quick, then just put it in ur wallet and only use it for when u go to ceasars properties. I think u can get that same 1-2% with other cards and its in cash not rewards credits so im not excited by that.

one other thing, I noticed it stops ur rewards creidts from expiring after 6 months of inactivity if u use the card, so thats one good reason to have it if u arent gonna be at caesars props for awhile and need your reward credits to not get lost.

I just got it. I put new tires on the the wife's car first thing and spent the $750. They have already credited my account the $100. Waiting for bill to come in the mail than I'll pay it off and only use it at Caesars props. Easy

You should be getting $200 total in credits (20000 RCs) because you got $100 for signing up and $100 for spending $750.

I don't have this credit card, but I might get it, as well. I don't ever pay anything at Caesar's properties because I get free rooms and have $1500 in RCs right now, but the 20000 RCs is nice and spending $750 is obviously easy.

    Cokehead's analysis is correct, btw.

    BUMP

Cokehead you were actually wrong here, and I accidentally agreed with your analysis without reading it too carefully.

You don't get $100 just for signing up. You get ZERO for signing up, then $50 for spending $250, and another $50 for spending another $500.

You also get a free Vegas buffet (big deal) and Platinum Total Rewards status (also mostly useless).

This is really only good to have if you want the free $100 in RCs, or if you go to Caesar's properties and want the 5x points for spending money there on the card.

I only got the $100 for signing up. It's free hundred without much hassle. If you pay the bill.
