It's something I have picked up through the years from being around a lot of black guys, and any northern black would immediately know what it meant. I dropped it on a black guy visiting from Florida once when he was up in Pittsburgh and we were coming out of a club, and he looked at me like I was using a pejorative term directed at him, and then I realized he was from Florida and might not know what the fuck I meant. Is that a phrase your friend is familiar with? because white people don't really use it in my experience. Wasn't like I said "I'm getting chalky." We start chalky.
