Looks like he is going to have to outrun the law
Damn, that's sad if true. You would think he would have at least gave some sort of warning before shooting. If what he is claiming is true he would have been half asleep, but even then it seems odd to me to just unload the second you see someone. This has to be every gun owners worst nightmare... Mistaking a loved one for an intruder and killing them. That would be a pretty big burden to carry for the rest of your life.
On the other hand, knowing he sleeps with a gun by his bed and a machine gun by the window, you have to be pretty stupid to want to surprise him in the middle of the night. Maybe she was drunk. 4am sounds like a drunken bad idea.
It said they had been dating two months? You can't hate anyone that much in that little time.
I know someone who moved from SA and they were constantly in fear
of car jackings and robberies. Carried a gun with them most often.
Strange case alright.
I know this guy was the feel good story of the Olympics with his scissors and all. But I have to tell you he creeped me the fuck out running with basically were knives.
So long dude, enjoy the South African jails with your scissor legs. Oh wait, you will be in jail, so its wheel chair.
Dunno the laws in SA but wouldn't this sort of be a manslaughter case? Also why even bother living in SA if you are so fearful that you unload bullets like this? It's like those DR baseball players who go back home in the off season / end of their career and someone in the family gets kidnapped for ransom money and shit, just fucking leave already. You obviously have the money to do so.

usually the rule is one shot is an accident multiple shots is murder SA did the right thing
hes not claiming the gun went off accidentally, hes claiming he thought an intruder was in his bathroom and he executed lethal force in self defense.
which is probably true.. we arent talking about phil spectre here.
that said, i know nothing of SA laws, perhaps that constitutes murder there.

I think the whole deal with him arguing with her in his house hours before this happened is going to make it really hard to make it look like she could have been an intruder. Only plausible explanation is if after the first argument she left, he went to bed, she came back hours later and was using the bathroom and he woke up thinking there was an intruder in the house. This is a gated exclusive community with a guarded front gate, so I think it will be fairly easy to determine if she ever left or not. If she was in the house the whole time he is fucked.
nod. it would be nice if some definitive timelines about that sort of thing were produced.
