I just hope after reading everything, Hockey Guy and certain others apologize to me for their nasty posts calling me a "hypocrite" for allowing the initial questioning Jasep's legitimacy to continue.

I would like to reiterate, I have privately apologized for my attack on Druff. What I wrote will remain between us but, I will say, he graciously accepted my apology & everything is fine between us. If I could take it back & never have written it, then I would.

Looking back at the timing, I was obviously composing my apology letter when Druff posted the above.

I also apologized to 4BET on IM on this board but I'm not sure if he received it since I never heard back from him. If you did not receive that apology 4BET, I am publically apologizing to you here. You were right all along.

I would also like to apologize to anyone that got involved in this BAP because of my participation. Highly unlikely, but just in case.

Yes, it wasn't a huge deal. I have always liked Hockey Guy, and was disappointed in some of the things he said to/about me earlier in this thread, but I am over it now. I know that handicapme has apologized as well, and I also appreciate that. (He was also less outspoken about it in the first place.)

I don't understand why shortbuspoker is still being uppity with me about the whole situation, but whatever.

I am not looking to be seen as a martyr or victim here, so I'm not going to make a big deal out of this.

I have no idea about probation in Rhode Island, but it's a northeast state, and I assume more judicially liberal than say Mississippi. I would be surprised if he went to jail. If he does, it will be because of the heinousness of the charity angle. If he stole 3k from anything besides a charity, him going to jail wouldn't even be in the conversation imo.

In Pennsylvania, I knew a few people on probation, and it's absurd. A guy I knew was convicted of vehicular manslaughter for killing his best friend while drunk behind the wheel. Real asshole. He got pulled over routinely for driving w/out a DL, as he'll never have a license, and never was jailed. He drank, posted where he was drinking on facebook posts, etc. Nothing ever happened. He was also a heroin addict in addition to being a drunk. He would come up dirty all the time for both alcohol and heroin and was out driving around, getting into trouble. His probation officer only acted on a 3rd strike every 6 month period. So essentially, unless he flunked 50% of his tests, nothing ever happened. He died this past month from a heroin overdose, so he won't be out drunk hurting anyone again, but I always found PA's probation absurd. Ohio is much quicker to violate, but PA is like many of the northeast states in their approach. For those looking to see him incarcerated, temper your expectations. It's possible, but I wouldn't bet on it.

The father of the girl with this disease is certainly the best person to bring a little heat to an overwhelmed probation officer.

The Northeast is very strange. In Mass he would almost certainly go to jail for violating probation, not really sure about RI though, it's a much smaller and poorer state, so they probably turn the other cheek to this stuff. Assuming everything is true, his previous conviction is Identity Theft, so defrauding a charity added to that is pretty major stuff, and a pattern. I would be very surprised if he got off without jail time, although I suppose it depends on what his sentence was from the Identity Theft

Joeu once the charity makes an official statement can you please post it so we can go to the state police. It would prob work better if you or your wife did this, however if you can't we will gladly do this. Once they confirm that it wasn't sent according to the court officer I spoke to this morning (afternoon?) it's a pretty air tight case since he technically recorded himself saying the money was received.
