The 12/6 episode of the show I talked about my fears and thoughts about having to possibly enter the job market, with no formal education or experience.
What about working @ Verizon for 3 yearsearly to mid 2000s or restaurant experience?
I am actually a winning player this year
10 mtts?
Today I sat down to write a resume and look around the job front when the realization that my resume was just a blank sheet of paper hit me. I don’t have a backup plan, I never did. The radio show and the website that I am an owner in was my only backup plan, but after working on those things pretty much full time for most of 2012 with only small revenue streams I have realized that I put myself in a bad position.
Again you have worked at Verizon and claimed to have owned restaurants or pieces of restaurants so you have more than a blank sheet of paper. I don't think there are any poker podcast sites that can support 1 man yet what "I thought" were 3 major shareholders. More to come on this later
And I need the help of my listeners, fans, users and friends to be able to make this happen.
If you are a good poker player and can prove it , you don't need help. You just need investors who want to make money
Beginning January 2nd 2013 I am going to start the process of rebuilding my life and my bankroll. I am not going to be playing tournaments regularly as they are way to high variance for this to work. Instead I am going to be starting over from the ground up.
You played tournaments the first 3 days
The highest I have played with any regularity was 25/50 NLHE, but that was a different person, at a different time.
I don't believe that you were ever a regular in a 25-50 game. I could be wrong but to be a regular in a 25-50 game I would guess you would need at least a couple months of live experience playing 25-50 day in and day out. Unless this was a private game I don't think this game ever ran @ foxwoods
I am going back to the drawing board completely.
I am going to play a combination of live and online poker (Black Chip but mostly live, starting at small limits and building it over 90 days to hopefully a spot where I essentially save my personal poker business.
Yesterday was the 30th where you killed this "Projekt". You hadn't played 1 hand online up until this point. You did cash out around 200-300 thru me at some point when you were collecting shares.
My schedule will look like this:
Monday-Thursday 9:00am-??? I will be at Foxwoods and/or Mohegan Sun playing any one of the following games:
4 intervals of monday through thursday is 20 days , you have logged what? 13 days? and some of those were supposedly 1 hand or 1 pot and out
I will play tournaments only when I have accumulated enough profit to allow for it and I will be paying out profit weekly. If I should run it up I may take shots here and there in bigger games if I really like the lineups.
I actually debated this topic with Sep, this is the greyest area of the bap, how much is enough profit to allow for it? Didn't you just say earlier you were focusing on grinding cash? Tournaments are pitfalls and they are what break so many "pros". People hit one or 2 or 3 or even 4 ,5 or 6 and they think it will happen again soon. Live you are paying up to 30 % rake and then add in there is very little play in nightlys. It is possible to beat these for small periods but overall these will break most players over time.
I will do a daily radio/video blog probably 10-15 minutes or so in length every day for all 90 days immediately after I am done playing. I will openly and candidly discuss my emotions, my thoughts, my errors, my triumphs, my heartaches and whatever else came from that day. When the 90 days is up, regardless of the result I will edit the 90 separate micro video blogs in to one full length documentary. If I have not succeeded in rebuilding then I will eliminate poker from my life and just come to terms with the facts that poker may have passed me by and the gambling chapter of my life is ready to be closed. However I feel truly in my heart that my comeback will be successful and I can make it to the highest levels again.
After reading this again I guess this did mean 90 days of poker. Originally me as an outsider reading this thread thought this was a 90 day stake as in 3 months as did a few other backers who asked me questions. As a poster pointed out earlier in this thread you have played 13 days of poker so far through a month. At this turtles pace this thing would have ended sometime in July or August. How the fuck do you expect to live for 7 - 8 months playing 5-10 and 10-20 live limit or 1-2 and 2-5 and then add in all over life expenses and then pay backers 60 %? Playing these limits day in and day out the best player at these stakes could maybe earn 1k a week and that is the best of the best who are dedicated grinding every day. Even if you were that guy you still have to kick back 60 %. This would never work
Like I said earlier I need the help of my listeners, fans, users and friends to be able to make this happen.
again if you are a winning player you don't need to ask for help. Just put a BAP and show your results and smart people will back you. The problem with that is you have very little proof of poker experience. I am not saying you didn';t ever play for a living or play full time. But as a guy who claimed to be an MTT specialist and not a cash game specialist where is the proof?
I will try doing this all with a 5K stake, with full makeup.
I would ideally like to sell the entire 5K as buying to many pieces of myself may not be an option at this point.
I will be playing for 40% and investors will be receiving the remaining 60%, every Thursday night after Filthy Limper Radio I will send out that week’s percentage of profits and start over again at 5K the following week, if we have less than 5K than I will need to get back to 5K before profits are sent out again.
After 90 days everyone will be sent their original stake back and if the total amount on hand is less than 5K I will cover the difference to get it to 5K out of the percentage of profits that I paid myself.
There a bunch of red flags here and I pointed them out earlier in this thread. You said that you would address them on radio but I don't know if you ever did.
1. How do you live off 40 % playing 3 days a week
2. You said you would send out profits on Thursday after Filthy Limper radio. The first Thursday after Filthy limper radio you did not send out a fucking dime. You then played Friday and said you would use it as a "make up" day. What in the fucking world is a makeup day? If you agree to pay on Thursday then pay on fucking Thursday. As many of your backers pointed out this was a drawing point for them as they would get paid on winning weeks.
The funny part about this is someone broke down to me exactly how this would go the first week although they didn't predict a "makeup day" They predicted you would win for the first 3 or 4 days and then the day before payday you would lose. This is exactly what happened.
3. Sending out weekly profit thing here is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen and I will explain why. This was meant to attract suckers or you didn't realize you were suckering yourself and I asked about this earlier.
Lets say you played 7 days a week for 90 days which would be 13 weeks and they all won 700 accept week 13
1. +700 (all total profit for each week ) (420 to backers 280 to you)
2. +700 (420 to backers 280 to you)
3. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
4. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
5. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
6. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
7. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
8. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
9. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
10. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
11. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
12. +700(420 to backers 280 to you)
We head toward the final week and the bankroll is 5,000 . you have paid backers each week and you have taken your cut. Backers have profited a nice 12 times 420 for for +5,040 in profit total. But you also said that if the bap ended in the red you would pay them shares out of your profits. So they profit their $5,040 then let's say week 13 you lose 4000 so now not only have they profited +5040 but per your agreement you are going to pay them out of your winnings. and then add makeup on top? So going into the final week the backers are on a super freeroll here. You would have paid them $5,040 in profit + you would have had to pay them all of your profits which was $3,360 and then you would have been in makeup for 4000.
Foxwoods pays .50 cents on the dollar for comp points, I will convert points to cash weekly and add that to profit as well.
Would love to see a playing audit of time played
I really need to sell this out to make it happen and I am fully committed to doing the project as I think it will create an amazing piece of media to share with the poker world and document about myself and about my rebuild. 13 days in a month is a hell of a commitment. This does look like it is turning into an amazing documentary but poker will not be the focal point
