Lightbulb Arizona GOP advances bill legalizing killing undocumented migrants on suspicion of trespassing

    Sounds like its needed.

    https://www.axios.com/2024/02/27/ari...r-migrant-kill
Arizona Republicans are advancing a bill that would allow people to legally kill someone accused of attempting to trespass or actively trespassing on their property.

The big picture: The legislation, which is expected to be vetoed if it reaches the state's Democratic governor, would legalize the murder of undocumented immigrants, who often have to cross ranches that sit on the state's border with Mexico.
The news article is misleading. Deadly force is only allowed to protect one's own life or that of another person.

here's my point of view.... THESE LAWS ARE ALREADY ON THE BOOKS !!... they just need to be re-read and actually RECOGNIZED !! what kind of blanket are they trying to pull over peoples eyes... just like the President already has the AUTHORITY to secure the border.... it says so right in the Constitution.... brain dead Biden just choses not enforce policies that are already on the books... the people in Arizona and across the USA, ALREADY have the right to defend themselves... it says so in the Constitution... why do they need to re-write a law(s) affirming these laws ??!!! i am sure without even looking it up, in the state of Arizona you already have the right to defend yourself with deadly force.... if your life is threatened or fear for your life...!!!!! jeeezzz...

For those that didn’t see the story this bill came about because of a rancher who caught illegals on his property and in fact were armed coyotes possible Sinaloa cartel carrying long guns and who actually fired on him first. He returned fire and killed one of them. The story is complicated, as it appears he shot an unarmed illegal who was probably being escorted by the cartel coyotes into the country. The full story is attached from news down in Tucson.

The story of a rancher being shot at unprovoked is illogical.
A victim with a deadly wound in the back is not great news for Arizona Al.

He might get six months, or nothing if he runs for office.

    This is the crazy part

You clearly aren’t aware of some of the insane shit the cartels pull down here on the AZ Mexico border. There’s been unresolved murders knowingly done by cartel members traversing private land near the border.

I do understand the problem, it’s big and important and compromises are needed It will get it.

Presenting a law that would allow a landowner to shoot to kill someone with only a suspicion is bat shit crazy . Insane..

A man in New York got 16+ years for shooting and killing a woman who happened to drive on his property in a car.
She was lost and trying to turn around.

    This will go away

The dead person happened to be an immigrant, unlike Arizona Al,
