Just found out I’m getting 12,300k back. We paid extra in because the first year of trumps law we owed 5800$. It’s not a crazy amount of money but it better then owing. How did you guys do this year

I never get any money back because I refuse to overpay the feds just to let them earn interest on me.
Also, myself and others paid less taxes under Trump. Other friends complained that their tax refunds were lower under Trump, but then we explained to them that they paid less in taxes for the year and then they were quiet.
Since the trump tax law IÂ’ve owed.
I understand the interest-free loan argument, I donÂ’t necessarily mind it this way. Number one thereÂ’s a 0% chance I wouldÂ’ve saved all $12,000, number two, itÂ’s really nice not pulling several thousand dollars out of my savings account to pay back the government.

Dreading doing taxes this year. Made a large amount in the stock market in 2023, bake in wash sales it's going to be rough April 15th. But this year is off to another great start. So whatever.
Kids getting older is shrinking my return….last year $4k, this year $1k…meh
I don't ever do my taxes until the last minute.
i owe federal and state, fuck Trump and fuck the government. not paying
Why? I guess as you aren't a W2 employee you aren't putting in half your paycheck up front, so no reason to file early to try to get some of it back.
We are meeting with our tax person next week. Expecting a pretty healthy refund, but not really a brag because that is all our money which we never saw because the govt took over half of it from the jump.
Many Floridians spend their lives getting rich elsewhere then retire in Florida when older for NO State income Taxes
When retiring people want to preserve their wealth more than ever which Floridians do so you find people here got rich earlier in life and many elsewhere. Only retired in Florida for the No State income Taxes multiplied by years adds up to a very large number. You never owe that every year in life once a Floridian plus the weather beach's fishing it makes perfect sense for many.
