However, it also might be that Koon is rich and decided he doesn't need the hassle of people talking shit to him over GG.
50 seconds in. Koon by all accounts is a good guy. Seems like he didn’t need the hassle anymore. He has been crushing and seems like a guy who doesn’t chunk off. But when he signed in late 2021..was before a lot of the crushing he’s done. He also is a Triton Ambassador. Which fits him a lot better as I think he’s mainly a live high roller crusher.
I agree with your assessment on Koon.
I don't really know him, but from what I've heard, he's a good guy with a good reputation. That's why his callout of Dan Smith being an insufferable jerk at the high stakes games resonated with people. People knew that Jason doesn't make up bullshit or get overly dramatic, so if he was calling out Dan Smith for always ruining the fun atmosphere of games, he was probably correct. And he did it at a moment when Dan was actually out of line.
I think he believed what he was saying in the above video. I'm sure GG told him that he would have a real influence on the process of keeping the games safe.
Then the MoneyTaker69 thing happened, and I'm guessing it never sat right with him that GG never accurately explained the whole thing, nor filled in the holes in the story. Every day people were calling him out for staying silent, which I know he had to do contractually.
The tone of the tweet indicates that this wasn't a friendly departure. Were it simply a matter of his contract being up and choosing not to renew (but otherwise being happy with them), he would have put out a much longer statement, and it would have sounded positive. This one had the tone of, "I'm gone. Not saying anything further. Good luck everyone."
Fedor Holz took over his position. Fedor was already on Team GG, but now he's the official Integrity Ambassador. I assume Fedor is more willing to toe the company line than Jason was.
I made sure to bug Fedor about the main hole in GG's story on MoneyTaker. I'm sure that I'm an irritant to GG at this point (and might have had a small part in Jason choosing to leave), but whatever. They really need to give us an answer on this. I probably won't get invited to any more of their summer parties, but so be it.

This makes it look like he probably signed with GG without an agent, and now went with Poker Royalty in order to find his next gig.
He is an ambassador for Triton, though. But I can't imagine that pays much.

I believe we all cherish poker in its purest form—mind vs. mind.
That's why my first security priority is the strict limitation of usage of mined data & MDA with HUDs.
It's more than unfair - it's predatory.
@GGPoker will be stepping up enforcement against harmful third-party software.
There's lots of other big challenges ahead, but I think this is an important step in the right direction to ensure fair play online.
Also, if you read between the lines with what Fedor is saying above:
GGPoker is going to limit access to datamining hands.
Why is this bad?
Because it will make it much tougher to catch future cheaters and superusers.

Latest issue: A GGPoker skin runs in "agent mode", which allows the skin itself to manage all of the account verification, deposit, and withdrawals. This is being done thorugh a skin called "2Play4Win", and it's a way for bots and banned users to get onto the GG Network with multiple accounts, and not have any concern about verification.
It also is promoted as a way for US players to play on the GG Network, and in fact they recommend using ExpressVPN to do so when playing on that skin.

And on a side note, Patrick Howard posted that the top $1/$2 NL players (by volume) are mostly net losers, and are surviving on rakeback.
