Probably enjoyed snorting pills and then going in the Jacuzzi tat makes sense, also he played pickleball in the morning so probably would be a relaxing afternoon in the jacuzzi

If you saw him on the Friends Reunion he was high as fuck, slurring his words. Even if he was clean when he died, when you spend years averaging 55 pills a day in your 30s and 40s, your heart just wears out. Feel bad for him though, he said he spent over $9M on rehab over the years trying to get clean and estimates he went to 6,000 AA meetings. He tried....RIP

Guy was worth over $100M but could not shake the pill habit. Druff is right, you are in a Jacuzzi for longer than an hour, you are in deep trouble. Couple that with drugs its a certain drowning. Always a chance though he had a heart attack, like Luke Perry mid 50s is the danger zone. But a Whitney Houston scenario is more likely at this point. He looked like shit on that Friends family reunion a couple years ago. RIP.

Time in Jacuzzi doesn't really matter its where temperature is set. You can literally do 3 hours no problems at 98-99 degrees. 104 degrees and you'll be in horrible shape after 30-40 mins. But this guy had so many health problems he was kinda fucked regardless given how many of his organs were already failing.

I would have gone with an opioid overdose until I read that he came home from playing two hours of pickleball.

Pickleball is not a strenuous sport unless you are playing singles and it is 90+ degrees out. Most people play doubles and the average square footage to cover for a doubles player is 220 sq. ft.

Also, 70 sq ft of the 220 is rarely covered because according to the rules, you are only allowed to enter the 7' X 10' space when an opponent hits a drop shot into that zone.

According to several news articles, Perry returned to his home around 10-10:30 am. Heat was definitely not a factor.

Just read an article on Matt, geez, this guy was about as addicted as you could get. About 5 years ago he spent two weeks in a coma and 5 months in the hospital when his colon ruptured due to prolonged opiate use. He said his colonoscopy bag would routinely burst covering him with shit in his bed and the nurses would simply clean him up. He had 14 surgeries. Later on, using again, eating a piece of toast his front teeth fell out and he drove to the dentist with his teeth in his pocket asking if they could be put back in. After all this and $9M in rehab he kept using. Crazy thing is, about a year ago he said he was on death's door due to the pills, and presumably kept using. Keep in mind at the time of his death he was worth $100M, just saying he simply could not stop.

It's possible that he damaged his body so badly from all the drug use that a heart attack was inevitable, and the particular circumstances of the day he died were inconsequential.

Suffice to say it's highly unlikely this was just a random bad beat 50s death.

The worst addicts I’ve known don’t ever love anything but doing drugs. It’s really all that makes them happy.

That $100 million was worthless to him if he couldn’t spend it on drugs. I mean, your brain and pleasure receptors after 30 years are totally shot. Even if sober, dude is miserable.

He’s a guy who dated Baywatch chicks and Julia Roberts back in the 90s, yet chose drugs and never married or had kids. You really never heard from the guy post 2005. He was holed up somewhere high. He had an unlimited bankroll.


Now he’s old and fat and washed up and is supposed to be happy he’s sober? What fires up his dopamine receptors? Pickleball with friends and long walks in the park? Not likely. Some people are too far gone. He’s lucky he went quick rather than machines and colostomy bags again.
