Just watched.
She looked like she drank 4 red bulls before the show.
Really excited.
Dave was there celebrating and he really should lose some weight.

And Bryan Micon will be grinding away on the Wheel of Fortune slot machine at the Orleans tonight.
*Disclaimer- I won $200 on that machine at Pechanga on Saturday night and I am not very proud of myself
I actually watched my first episode of WoF in 20 years to see this. I now remember why I stopped watching.

His initial fame was from his 2nd place finish(& outlandish table persona)to MIT Mike in the inaugural World Series of Blackjack. He parlayed that into a spot on some reality show about gambling that pitted different gamblers against each other in other disciplines other than their speciallties & the name escapes me(King of Vegas or something like that). He then became a spokesman for the Ultimate Blackjack Tour, because of his notoriety, as well as Ultimate Bet who run the UBT.

I agree that Mary Beth's excitement was a bit over the top, but that's how she got onto the show (and Deal or No Deal, as well). You have to stand out when you go to these auditions, because there is so much competition. She is good at playing the "cute, spritely, happy girl" role.
She actually is very positive and upbeat in person, though not anywhere near as hyper as she appeared on the show.
Hollywood Dave is actually a nice guy, despite the asshole persona he puts on for television. He has embraced the "young punk" persona, and did it pretty well, but it's getting harder to pull off because he's only a few years away from 40.
Yes, that was Annie Duke in the Deal or No Deal picture with Mary Beth.
It's actually because of Annie Duke that she met Hollywood Dave.
When she appeared on Deal or No Deal, they asked her about her interests, and she said she was a big fan of poker. As a "fantasy gift" for her, they gave her a weekend with Annie Duke and her friends, as well as some poker lessons. One of Annie Duke's friends was Hollywood Dave, and they met that weekend and hit it off.
While I like Hollywood Dave, I have always disagreed with both his cheerleading for UB and his friendship with Annie. I have said this to him both privately and on the air when he used to appear on DD Radio.
I remember the last time I went to a Dodgers game with Hollywood Dave, my girlfriend and I agreed to meet up with Mary Beth and Dave for dinner right after the game. We went to our car and drove right out, because we were close to the exit. We sat there waiting for Dave and Mary Beth for a good 30 minutes. When they arrived, they insisted that the traffic getting out of the stadium was unusually bad, and they had to break through a barrier to get out at all.
It turned out they weren't just making excuses. That was the night Brian Stow (the Giants fan) was beaten nearly to death in the parking lot, and the traffic jam was the result of the ensuing police presence.
Also, WTF was "Lukewarm Water Polo"?! Pretty ridiculous phrase.
its not a phrase but actually two phrases combined
its the answer to a Before & After Puzzle, one of the variations of the game. the middle word is part of two common phrases, thus the "before & after" word in this puzzle...in this instance the phrases are lukewarm water & water polo
Druff, take this incident as a lesson: there is all kinds of trash American culture available for you if you venture out from your singleminded obsession with becoming the David Horowitz of the online line poker world...salame
